Barbara Sue Nevil
Barbara Sue Nevil, 58, of Greenfield, died Friday, April 17,
2009, at her home. Memorial services for Mrs. Nevil were held
Monday, April 20, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel
in Dresden. Bro. Dewayne Thomas officiated the services.
Mrs. Nevil was an Environmental Services Employee for
Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. She was a member of Main
Street Baptist Church in Martin. Mrs. Nevil was born in Lambert,
Mississippi to the late Bill and Ima Jean White Reese. In addition
to her parents, Mrs. Nevil was also preceded in death by a daughter,
Angie Branham; and her stepfather, Ralph Barker.
Mrs. Nevil is survived by her husband, Mr. Allen Nevil of
Paris; a son, Jason Nevil of Gleason; a daughter, Alana Nevil of
Dresden; stepdaughter, Monica Rockett of Dresden; stepmother,
Carolyn Reese of Clarksdale, Mississippi; three sisters, Monica
Clark of Memphis, Mary Clark of South Fulton, and Tabitha French of
Greenfield; four brothers, Tommy Barker of Dresden, Shan Parks of
Clarksdale, Mississippi, Michael Reese of Clarksdale, Mississippi,
and Bill Reese of Memphis; eight grandchildren; and several nieces
and nephews.
Billy R. Higgs
Billy R. Higgs, 73, of Greenfield, died Thursday, April 23,
2009, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Graveside services
for Mr. Higgs were held Sunday, April 26, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at
Highland Cemetery. Aaron Jones officiated the services.
Mr. Higgs was a factory worker for Gans Manufacturing. He was
born March 9, 1936 in Greenfield to the late Bennie Higgs and Emma
Winston.
Mr. Higgs is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Higgs)
Pettigrew of Atwood, and Mary Jane Higgs of Wisconsin; three
sisters, Justin McMullens of Greenfield, Barbara Finch of
Greenfield, and Melvlon Hill of Greenfield; and three brothers,
James Higgs of San Antonio, Texas, Jessie Higgs of St. Louis,
Missouri, and Bennie J. Higgs of Greenfield.
Donnie Dean Buckley
Donnie Dean Buckley, 62, of Fulton, Kentucky, died Wednesday,
April 22, 2009, at his residence. Memorial services will be held at
a later date.
Mr. Buckley was a member of the Church of Christ and was a
United States Army veteran. He was retired from the City of Ann
Arbor, Michigan, where he worked in the utility department. Mr.
Buckley was born January 11, 1947 in Dresden and had lived in
Fulton, Kentucky for the past 3 1/2 years. He was preceded in death
by his father, Clyde Henry Buckley.
Mr. Buckley is survived by his wife, Jeanette (Blackburn)
Buckley of Ann Arbor, Michigan; his mother, Dorothy May (Finney)
Buckley of South Fulton; a sister, Lorraine "Faye" Uren of
Ypsilanti, Michigan; a niece, Cherri Brightwell of Muskegon,
Michigan; and a nephew, Barry Uren of Florida.
Hugh Gatewood Dismuke
Hugh Gatewood Dismuke, 80, of Dresden, died Thursday, May 23,
2009, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services
for Mr. Dismuke were held Sunday, April 26, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at
Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel in Greenfield. Burial followed in
Olive Branch Cemetery. Rev. Gene Price officiated the services.
Mr. Dismuke was a retired supervisor at Dico and a veteran of
the United States Navy. He was born May 19, 1928 in Dresden to the
late William Ashley Dismuke and Ruth Belle Gatewood Dismuke. In
addition to his parents, Mr. Dismuke was also preceded in death by
two sons, Barry Dismuke and Sam Dismuke.
Mr. Dismuke is survived by his wife, Willie Lucille Woodard
Dismuke; three sons, Mike Dismuke of Chicago, Illinois, Terry
Dismuke of Chicago, Illinois, and Hugh Martin Dismuke of Chicago,
Illinois; a stepson, Ronnie Winstead of Dresden; a stepdaughter,
Robbie Johnson of Gleason; a brother, Jerry Dismuke of Steger,
Illinois; and three grandchildren.
Jeanne Baker Pride
Jeanne Baker Pride, 66, died April 25, 2009, at her home.
Services for Mrs. Pride will be held Friday, May 1, 2009, at 11:00
a.m. at Belmont United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Pride is survived by her husband, Joseph D. Pride;
mother, Craddock Vaughn; son, Wyatt (Vanessa) Wilkinson and their
children, Collin, Austin, Charlie and Abby; and daughter, Craddock
(John) Butler.

Hospice.
Luther (Jack) Jackson Jenkins
Luther (Jack) Jackson Jenkins, 68, of Greenfield, died
Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Jackson Madison County Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Jenkins were held Saturday, April 25, 2009,
at 11:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Greenfield. Burial
followed in Brock's Cemetery in Greenfield. Jerry Powell, Robert
Archie, Kenneth Williams, and Gerry Gallimore officiated the
services.
Mr. Jenkins was a maintenance supervisor and attended
Gearin's Chapel Church in Greenfield. He was born April 10, 1941 in
Greenfield to the late Algie Jenkins and Leatrice Cantrell Jenkins.
Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife, Patsy Jenkins of
Greenfield; a daughter, Pam Norwood of Greenfield; a brother,
Kenneth (Jeannie) Jenkins of Lebanon; a sister, Marie Hutcherson of
Greenfield; and two granddaughters, Alvia Hensley and Kala Allen.
Willard Larry Arnold
Willard Larry Arnold, 66, of Savannah, Tennessee, died
Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Hardin County General Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Arnold were held Saturday, April 25, 2009,
at Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel in Gleason. Burial followed in
Tumbling Creek Cemetery. Rev. Gene Price officiated the services.
Mr. Arnold was a retired paper hanger and veteran of the
Vietnam War. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. Mr. Arnold
was born in Lansing, Michigan to the late Richard and Louise
(Hunter) Arnold.
Mr. Arnold is survived by two sons, Scott Arnold of Memphis,
and Curtis Hayes of Salt Lake City, Utah; a daughter, Kelley Shutte
of Somerville, Tennessee; his companion, Linda Kay O'Brien; a
sister, Joeanne Savage of McKenzie; and six grandchildren.
Zachary Tyler Jackson
Zachary Tyler Jackson, 20, of Dresden, died Tuesday, April
21, 2009, at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Jackson were
held Friday, April 24, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home
Chapel in Dresden. Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery in Latham.
Bro. Michael Simmons officiated the services.
Mr. Jackson was a toolmaker and welder. He was a Baptist by
faith. Mr. Jackson was born in Union City on September 8, 1988 to
Duane Jackson and Donna Nelson Childress. He was preceded in death
by his grandfather, Phillip Jackson.
Mr. Jackson is survived by a son, Aiden Jackson of Dresden;
his parents, Duane (Diane) Jackson of Dresden, and Donna (Jimmy)
Childress of Hornbeak; two half-brothers, Jeremy Childress of
Hornbeak, and Chase Childress of Hornbeak; five stepsisters, Shelee
Wiley of Dresden, Desare Wiley of Dresden, Dominique Minga of
Dresden, Candice Davis of Kentucky, and Jessica Pitts of Troy; and
his grandparents, Violet Jackson of Dresden, and Betty and Joe
Nelson of Union City.
