The Dresden Loins will again be looking for a new head coach
as Eric Knott resigned from the position last week, citing
health issues.
"There's some health issues that I've had," Knott said.
"Last year, I think it was the week of the Westview game, I
ended up in the hospital for a day or two. I was only
able to attend practice about one day a week. I was
having some chest pains for a week or two before that.
They've continued on throughout the offseason."
Knott added that, while he was in the hospital, the doctor
advised him to change jobs.
"While I was in the hospital, the doctor told me that I need
to change jobs or find another profession," Knott said.
Knott stressed that his decision had nothing to do with the
players or administration at the school.
"Chuck (West) has been wonderful," Knott said. "He has
been great to work with."
Knott gave similar praise to the Lion football team, who had
a record of 1-9 in Knott's season.
"The kids are some of the hardest working kids I have ever
been around - especially in the weight room," Knott said.
"Even now, since the news has come out, they're working
hard. There are some leaders on that team."
