The Westview Lady Chargers saw their nine-point halftime lead evaporate quickly in the second half as the Gibson County Lady Pioneers outscored the WHS girls 17-5 over the first eight minutes of the second half on the way to a 53-48 victory in the semifinals of the Region 7-AA Tournament at Haywood County High School in Brownsville.

The Lady Chargers trailed by one after the opening frame, but that soon changed as Grace Ann Swaim nailed an early bucket to put the Lady Chargers ahead for the first time just 15 seconds into the second stanza.  After a Gibson County tally, the Lady Chargers got back-to-back treys from Amber Nanney and Amber Rechis to build a 17-12 lead with 4:21 left in the first half.  The Lady Pioneers were able to cut the lead down to three points, but three straight buckets from Rechis gave Westview a 25-16 lead at the end of the first half.
