Anabel Freeman Travis Delehanty
Anabel Freeman Travis Delehanty, 99, of Erlanger, Kentucky,
formerly of Dresden, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at The
Baptist Village in Erlanger, Kentucky. Funeral services for
Mrs. Delehanty were held Saturday, June 14, 2008, at 10:30
a.m. at Connley Brothers Funeral Home in Latonia, Kentucky.
Interment followed in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in
Taylor Mill, Kentucky.
Mrs. Delehanty was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United
Methodist church in Latonia, Kentucky. She was preceded in
death by her first husband, Terrell A. Travis in 1969 and
her second husband, John T. Delehanty in 1976.
Survivors include two sons, John H. Travis of Covington,
Kentucky, and Dan F. Travis of Cropwell, Alabama; five
grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Mary Holmes Bennett
Mary Holmes Bennett, 82, of Dresden, died Sunday, June 8,
2008, at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Bennett were
held Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the Dresden
First United Methodist Church. Burial followed in Sunset
Cemetery in Dresden. Rev. John Quinton, Rev. Jim Calhoun,
and Rev. Dan Leslie officiated the services.
Mrs. Bennett was a former Home Economics Teacher and
homemaker. She was a 1949 graduate of the University of
Tennessee at Knoxville, where she received her B.S. in Home
Economics. She was a member of the Dresden First United
Methodist Church, member of the United Methodist Women,
where she was Past President, and also the past Children's
Director for the Dresden First United Methodist Church. She
was a member of the Christian Women's Club and also a member
of the Gideon's Auxiliary. Mrs. Bennett was born July 23,
1925 in McLemoresville to the late Ewin B. and Dollye
McKinney Holmes.
Mrs. Bennett is survived by her husband, Walter B. Bennett of
Dresden; two daughters, Melanie (Ron) Harber of Paris, and
Beth (Ron) Beaton of Paducah, Kentucky; a sister, Rebeccah
Smith of Tiptonville; five grandchildren, Paul (Danyel)
Harber of Paris, Matthew Harber of Dallas, Texas, John
Harber of Paris, Benjamin (Andrea) Beaton of New York, New
York, and Lori Beaton of Louisville, Kentucky; and two
great-grandchildren, Olivia Harber of Paris, and Noah Harber
of Paris.
Nora Bell Jones
Nora Bell Jones, 87, of Greenfield, died Sunday, June 1,
2008, at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Jones were held
Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral
Home in Greenfield. Burial followed in Brock's Cemetery in
Greenfield. Jackie Wilkerson officiated the services.
Mrs. Jones was a former factory worker for Halls Printing and
a Baptist by faith. She was born April 13, 1921 in
Greenfield to the late Floyd Bills and Neta Bell Bills. In
addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was also preceded in
death by her husbands, Robert McAlister and Sam Jones; a
daughter, Carolyn McAlister; and a son, Stanley McAlister.
Mrs. Jones is survived by a son, David McAlister of
Greenfield; a daughter, Kathy Jones of Greenfield; a sister,
Mrs. Margaret Lofton of Apopka, Florida; eleven
grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and four
great-great-grandchildren.
Robert Butts
Robert Butts, 61, of Dwight, Illinois, died Saturday, June
14, 2008, at his home. Graveside services for Mr. Butts will
be held Friday, June 20, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at East Side
Cemetery in Martin. Father Joseph Paolozzi will officiate
the services.
Mr. Butts was a retired senior piping designer after 42 years
of service. He was born August 24, 1946 to the late Basil
Butts and Mattie Lou Insco Butts. In addition to his
parents, Mr. Butts was also preceded in death by two
sisters, Patricia Caruso and Carol Besset.
Mr. Butts is survived by his wife, Mrs. Barbara Butts of
Dwight, Illinois; three sons, Robert (Patricia) Butts, Jr.
of North Aurora, Illinois, Keith (Misty) Gabreleske of
Arlington, Texas, and Kevin Cap of Dwight, Illinois; three
daughters, Carol (Joseph) Butts of Tuscaloosa, Alabama,
Kimberly (David) Bzqusek of Cicero, Illinois, and Christine
(John) Koranek of Wooddalw, Illinois; a brother, Joseph
Butts of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; fifteen grandchildren, Tracy,
Joey, Josh, Nicholas, Brandon, Nikkole, Jeremy, Paige,
Emily, Lily, Jacob, Jordan, Micholas, Alyssa, and Christine;
and four great-grandchildren, Madison, Michael, Mathew, and
Jayce.
