Dale L. Kisling
Dale L. Kisling, 78, of Palmersville, died July 23, 2008, at
his home. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Machesney
Park, Illinois. A local memorial service will be held at a
later date.
Mr. Kisling was a piece worker and mill operator for
Borg-Warner. He was a native of Freeport, Illinois, and the
son of the late Alfred and Clara Mable Nelson Kisling. In
addition to his parents, Mr. Kisling was also preceded in
death by a daughter, Gale Podewils; two sons, Dale Kisling,
Jr. and Duane J. Kisling; a stepson, Caylyn Kilgore; a
sister; and two brothers.
Mr. Kisling is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mrs. Jeannie
Mae Vickery Kisling of Palmersville; two sons, Thomas N.
Kisling of Henderson, Nevada, and Marvin A. Kisling of St.
Louis, Missouri; a stepson, Clay Kilgore of Lasalle, Peru;
three stepdaughters, Lila Ballard of Rockford, Illinois,
Lisa Reynolds of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Robin Thomas of Ft.
Pierce, Florida; five brothers, Herbert Kisling of Lady
Smith, Wisconsin, Allen Kisling of Bruce, Wisconsin, Warren
Kisling of California, Harley Kisling of Rockford, Illinois,
and Leonard Kisling of Chicago, Illinois; fifteen
grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Doris Wagner
Doris Wagner, 61, of Martin, died Friday, July 25, 2008, at
her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Wagner were held Sunday,
July 27, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist
Church. Burial followed in Hopewell Cemetery in Gleason.
Bro. Mike Jeffers officiated the services.
Mrs. Wagner was a Human Resource Agent. She was born December
23, 1946 in Hickman, Kentucky to the late Willard
Blassingame and Hazel Buce Blassingame. In addition to her
parents, Mrs. Wagner was also preceded in death by a
brother, Laymon Blassingame.
Mrs. Wagner is survived by her husband, Mr. Jerome Wagner of
Martin; two daughters, Malita Rich of Gleason, and Melissa
Davis of Murphressboro, Tennessee; a brother, Mike
Blassingame of Gleason; three sisters, Denise Shaw of
Martin, Lavelle Floyd of Paris, and Maxine Fortner of
Trenton; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Edward Lee Sedgebear
Edward Lee Sedgebear, 59, of Martin, died Saturday, July 26,
2008, at his home. Memorial and celebration of life services
will be held Saturday, August 1, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at
Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial was in Public Wells
Cemetery in Martin. Rev. Donald E. Brooks will officiate the
services.
Mr. Sedgebear formerly worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber
Company and was an Episcopal by faith. He was also a veteran
of the United States Army having served in Vietnam. He was
born January 30, 1949 in Jackson, Michigan, to the late
Loren Sedgebear and Wilma Creech. In addition to his
parents, Mr. Sedgebear was also preceded in death by a
brother, Buddy Aukerman.
Mr. Sedgebear is survived by his wife, Mrs. Janice Hankins
Sedgebear of Martin; two daughters, Sherri Sedgebear of
McKenzie, and Trisha Frensley of Martin; two sisters, Sharon
(Pete) Stewart of Jackson, Michigan, and Dianne Cole of
Jackson, Michigan; and one granddaughter, Kaylie Martin of
Martin.
Eugene Jackson Thomason
Eugene Jackson Thomason, 61, of Dresden, died July 20, 2008,
at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Thomason were held
Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home
Chapel in Dresden. Burial followed in Lebanon Cemetery near
Dresden. William Norrid officiated the services.
Mr. Thomason was a machine operator for P.M.L. Automotive
Parts Mfg. and a member of Lebanon Church of Christ in
Dresden. He was a 1965 graduate of Dresden High School. Mr.
Hayes was born in Martin to the late Ed Lee and Mary Alpheus
Jackson Thomason.
Mr. Thomason is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mrs. Sherry
Ann Barnett Thomason of Dresden; a daughter, Cathy (Paul)
Brown of Dresden; a son, David (Karen) Thomason of
Henderson; a sister, Brenda Barrett of Clarksville; a
brother, Rayburn Thomason of Paris; and two grandchildren,
Paul and Natalie Thomason of Henderson.
Evie Buchanan Warren
Evie Buchanan Warren, 96, of Dresden, died Thursday, July 24,
2008, at Martin Health Care. Funeral services for Mrs.
Warren were held Monday, July 28, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at
Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial followed in Sunset
Cemetery in Dresden. Bro. Eddie Hutchens and Bro. Steve
Boone officiated the services.
Mrs. Warren was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Church of
Christ. She was born April 29, 1912 in Hickman, Tennessee to
the late Andrew V. Buchanan and Mary Etta Hedge Buchanan. In
addition to her parents, Mrs. Warren was also preceded in
death by her husband, William Delbert Warren; four brothers,
Lee Buchanan, Jack Buchanan, Oliver Buchanan, and William L.
(Sonny) Buchanan; four sisters, Ann White, Ethel Lyle,
Louise Bell, and Milfred Cole; and one grandchild.
Mrs. Warren is survived by two sons, Mike (Sharen) Warren of
Martin, and Andrew (Pat) Warren of Dresden; a daughter,
Annetta (Wavel) Lamb of Mayfield, Kentucky; a brother, Fred
Buchanan of Martin; a sister, Jenny Booker of Martin; eleven
grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and three
great-great-grandchildren.
Kenneth Hayes
Kenneth Hayes, 59, of Greenfield, died July 21, 2008, at
Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. Graveside services
for Mr. Hayes were held July 23, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at
Macedonia Cemetery in Kenton. Wendell Jellison officiated
the services.
Mr. Hayes was a truck driver. He was born July 28, 1948 in
Union City. Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by his father,
William Harold Hayes.
Mr. Hayes is survived by a son, Kenny Hayes of Memphis; two
daughters, Stephanie (Hayes) Roberts of Newbern, and Angie
Lawrence of Caruthersville, Missouri; his mother, Cinda
(Alexander) Powers of Greenfield; two sisters, Janice Hayes
of Union City, and Deana Ricketts of Greenfield; and seven
grandchildren.
Lester Randolph Stephens
Lester Randolph Stephens, 96, of Palmersville, died July 24,
2008 at Henry County Medical Center in Paris. Private
services were held.
Mr. Stephens was a retired plant superintendant and a Baptist
by faith. He was born in Danville, Illinois to the late Roy
David and Leafy Strickland Stephens. In addition to his
parents, Mr. Stephens was also preceded in death by his
wife, Annette Kassel Stephens.
Mr. Stephens is survived by a son, Daniel L. Stephens of
Palmersville.
Marlee Jean Houghtby
Marlee Jean Houghtby, 5 days old, passed away Thursday, July
17, 2008, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Services for Marlee Jean were held at 2:00 p.m. on July 21,
2008, at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, Kentucky. Burial
followed at Lynnville Pentecostal Church with Rev. Chad Lamb
officiating.
Marlee is survived by her parents, Brian Houghtby and Bridgie
McClain of Farmington, Kentucky; one sister, Bailee Houghtby
of Murray, Kentucky; grandparents, Dorothy and David
Chambers of Farmington, Kentucky, Mike and Michelle Houghtby
of Mayfield, Kentucky, and Don and Dee Baker of Calvert
City, Kentucky; great-grandparents, Billy Weaver of Hati,
Missouri, Elizabeth Chambers of Tri City, Kentucky, Fern and
Ed Heiston of Benton, Kentucky, and Gordon Houghtby of
Mayfield, Kentucky; four uncles, Jason Carlton and Michael
Chambers of Sedalia, Kentucky, Lonnie Jarred and Pete Weaver
of Dresden; and four aunts, Chrissie Morris of Mayfield,
Kentucky, Nancy Elinor of Sharon, Lisa Pegram of
Palmersville, and Judy Boane of Gleason.
She was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Marilyn
Houghtby, Hulon Chambers, and Mary Jean Petty.
Susan P. Biggers
Susan P. Biggers, 103, of Mayfield, Kentucky, died Friday,
July 25, 2008, at Mills Health & Rehab. Funeral services for
Mrs. Biggers were held Monday, July 28, 2008, at 11:00 a.m.
at Byrn Chapel. Burial followed in Highland Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Biggers was a retired employee of The Curlee Clothing
Co. and a member of 7 Oaks Church of Christ. She was
preceded in death by her husband, James Anderson Biggers;
her parents, J.C. and Roxie Ann (Melvin) Parks; a brother,
Herman H. Parks; and four sisters, Margaret Hardeman, Bessie
Beasley, Mavis Watts, and Pearl Luther.
Mrs. Biggers is survived by a daughter, Sue Biggers of
Mayfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins,
including nephew, Steve Parks of Martin.
