With the county tournament approaching, the Lady Lions and
Lions picked up some momentum as Dresden Middle School took
a pair of wins from host Gleason on Monday night.
The Lady Lions took a 27-16 win over the Lady Bulldogs while
the Lions dominated Gleason 44-15 in boys action.

After falling behind by four points early, the Lady Lions
outscored Gleason 27-12 over the remainder of the game to
get the win.
Back-to-back buckets from Shauna Blassingame gave the Lady
Bulldogs their only lead of the night as a jumper from
Jessica Jones sparked an 8-0 run to end the first frame that
was capped by four points from Alex Glisson to make the
score 8-4 in Dresden's favor.
The run continued into the second frame as free throws from
Allie Phillips and a jumper from Kristen Childress put the
Lady Lions ahead by eight. Gleason cut the lead to
four points after buckets from Hollie Townes and Blassingame,
but Dresden got a jumper from Anna Stafford and a layup from
Phillips to make the score 16-8 at the half.
