Alan David Watkins

    Alan David Watkins, 50, of Oak Ridge, died Sunday, August 19, 2007, at his residence.
Mr. Watkins was born August 29, 1956, in South Bend, Indiana. He was a competitive body builder and won several awards in competition, including Mr. Knoxville in the late '80s.
    Mr. Watkins is survived by his parents, Clarence and Helen North Watkins of Oak Ridge; two brothers, Daryel I. Watkins of Dresden, and William Keith Watkins of Oak Ridge; two sisters, Diane Marie Watkins Brown and husband, Douglas, of Claxton, Tennessee, and Mary Ann Watkins Davidson and husband, Ben, of Oak Ridge; one niece, Angela Brown; one nephew, Brennen D. Watkins; and one great-niece, Emily Ann Watkins.
    The funeral was held on Wednesday, August 22, 2007, at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Akers officiating. The interment was held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
 

Earl Lowe

    Earl Lowe, died Monday, August 20, 2007, at his home in Pleasant View, Tennessee. Funeral services were held August 22, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Bible Church. Burial followed at McBride Cemetery.
    Mr. Lowe was retired after 30 years of service as the Captain at the Tennessee Department of Corrections. He was born November 18, 1947 to the late Eugene H. Lowe and Claracie Odell Barton Lowe. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lowe was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
    Mr. Lowe is survived by his wife, Kaye Lowe; one son, Steve Lowe of South Carolina; two grandsons; two stepsons; and four step-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Marie Moore of McKenzie, and Joyce Champion of Gleason.
 

Florence Lenona Bradberry

    Florence Lenona Bradberry, 90, of Dresden, died Tuesday, August 28, 2007, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mrs. Bradberry were held Thursday, August 30, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. Rev. Roy Auvenshine officiated the services.
    Mrs. Bradberry was a retired factory worker for Kellwood Company and a Baptist by faith. She was born in Paris to the late Neal Kirkland and Neatie Cariline Beasley Tucker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bradberry was also preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Rufus Bradberry; a son, Sammie Bradberry, Sr.; a brother, Horace Tucker; and a grandson, Jerome Bradberry.
    Mrs. Bradberry is survived by three grandchildren, Jeff, Jamie, and Sammy Bradberry, Jr., all of Dresden; and five great-grandchildren.

 

Margaret Wilson Barber

    Margaret Wilson Barber, 93, of Martin, died Sunday, September 2, 2007, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mrs. Barber will be held today, Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at Ralston Baptist Church. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery in Martin. Rev. Scott Penick will officiate the services.
    Mrs. Barber was retired from Martin Manufacturing Company. She was a member of Ralston Baptist Church and taught children's Sunday school for over 50 years. She was born November 19, 1913 in Clinton, Kentucky to the late Leonard Wilson and Josie Craddock Wilson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barber was also preceded in death by her husband, Leon Barber; her stepmother, Mary Collins Wilson; a brother, Ewing Wilson; two sisters, Jeanette Stephens and Jerelyne Ward; and a grandson, Paul (Buddy) Rogers.
    Mrs. Barber is survived by a son, Mac Barber (Trish) of Martin; two daughters, Nell Scott (Bobby) of Dresden, and Janice Rogers of South Fulton; a sister, Laurine Rudicil of Grand Haven, Michigan; five grandchildren, Laura Smith (David) of Knoxville, Ondrea Harrison (Brian) of Franklin, Rodney Scott of Nashville, Allen McLeaird (Holly) of Middleburg, Florida, and Britt Reed (Laura) of Mason Hall; five great-grandchildren, Jack Harrison, Liam Harrison, Connor Harrison, Ariel McLeaird, and Isaiah McLeaird; and a sister-in-law, Doris Wilson of Water Valley, Kentucky.
 

William Ralph Smith

    William Ralph Smith, 82, of Palmersville, died Tuesday, August 28, 2007, at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Smith were held Friday, August 31, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Southside Church of Christ in Dresden. Burial followed in Morgan Cemetery in Palmersville. Bro. Tom Childers, Bro. Tony Kelton, and Bro. Shannon Seaton officiated the services.
    Mr. Smith was a farmer and a member of Southside Church of Christ. He was born in Lake County to the late Claude and Annie McCord Smith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was also preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Quick and Marie Stewart; and three brothers, Gene Smith, Houston Smith, and Ray Smith.
    Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Mrs. Viola "Vi" James Smith of Palmersville; two daughters, Linda Jo (Joe) Donoho of Springfield, Tennessee, and Bethany Renee Smith of Martin; a son, David Ralph (Ann Denise) Smith of Palmersville; three sisters, Polly Lovett of Gleason, Oletha Bramlett of Smyrna, Tennessee, and Helen Tanner of Ridgely; a brother, Claude Smith, Jr. of Hornbeak; five grandchildren, Belinda White of Dresden, Clint Donoho of Springfield, Luke Tucker of Palmersville, Cory Smith of Wingo, Kentucky, and Melissa Stewart of Clarksville; and nine great-grandchildren.
