Carolyn J. McAlister Carolyn J. McAlister, 57, of Greenfield, died Monday, February 19, 2007, in Greenfield. Funeral services for Ms. McAlister were held Wednesday, February 21, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Hermon Methodist Church. Burial followed in Mount Hermon Cemetery in Greenfield. Randy Stacy, Richard Denton, and Jerry Powell officiated the services. Ms. McAlister worked for Parker Hannifin Corp. and attended Mt. Hermon Methodist Church. She was born November 16, 1949 in Martin. Ms. McAlister was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Gearin. Ms. McAlister is survived by a daughter, Samantha (Jason) Hypes of Dresden; two sons, Tommy (Jennifer) McAlister of McKenzie, and Michael (Stephanie) McAlister of Greenfield; her mother, Polly Gearin of Greenfield; two sisters, Jane Capps of Greenfield, and Mary Wilson of Gleason; and two brothers, Ricky Gearin of Greenfield, and Randy Gearin of Gleason.
Elise Brown McAdoo Graveside services for Mrs. Elise Brown McAdoo, 81, were held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Eastside Cemetery in Martin with Dr. Ernest Parvin and Sam McElroy officiating. Mrs. McAdoo died Thursday, February 22, 2007 at the NHC Healthcare in Milan. She was born in Weakley County on February 23, 1925, the daughter of the late A.G. and Ozella Hester Brown. She was the retired co-owner of McAdoo's Pharmacy in Martin. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Martin. She formerly served as chairman of the Weakley County Women's Democratic Party. She had been a resident of Milan since 1994. She was the widow of Billy N. McAdoo. Surviving are a son, Michael A. McAdoo, MD and wife Dixie of Milan; a daughter, Baeteena M. Black and husband Bob of Franklin; four grandchildren, Stacey Black, Kristi Johnson, Lori Lickliter and Matt McAdoo; and three great-grandchildren.
G.W. (Dub) Forrester G.W. (Dub) Forrester, 82, of Sharon, died Wednesday, February 21, 2007, at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Forrester were held Friday, February 23, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Sharon. Burial followed in Tansil Cemetery in Sharon. Harold Stricker officiated the services. Mr. Forrester was a farmer and worked for Quality Control. He was also a Mason and a Scout Leader. He attended the United Methodist Church in Sharon. Mr. Forrester was born March 17, 1924 in Sharon to the late Johnny A. Forrester and Mirtle Hanks. Mr. Forrester is survived by his wife, Doris Summers Forrester of Sharon; a son, Greg (Suzanne) Forrester of Sharon; a daughter, Carol (Gary) Taylor of Dresden; four sisters, Linda Dailey of Martin, L.V. Fuqua of Sharon, Jane Moore of Martin, and Christine Adams of Martin; a brother, Halford Forrester of Lansing, Michigan; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Harry W. Hauhe Harry W. Hauhe, 78, of Martin, died Wednesday, February 21, 2007, at Greenbrier Meadows of Martin. Funeral services for Mr. Hauhe were held Friday, February 23, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial followed in Gardner Cemetery in Martin. Rev. Phil Mitchell officiated the services. Mr. Hauhe owned and operated the Texaco Service Station and Hauhe Construction Company. He was also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Hauhe was a Baptist by faith. He was born November 25, 1928 in Bruceville, Indiana to the late Charles Hauhe, Sr. and Ruth Harwell Hicks. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hauhe was also preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Capps Hauhe; a son, Robert Wayne (Bobby) Hauhe; two brothers, Charles Hauhe, Jr. and Donald Hauhe; three sisters, Betty Watson, Margie Svatik, and Katie Wauford; and a grandson, Daniel Hauhe. Mr. Hauhe is survived by four sons, Charles (Chuck) Hauhe of Martin, David Hauhe of Martin, Doug Hauhe of Martin, and Mike (Flip) Hauhe of Martin; a daughter, Donna Bell of Martin; eleven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Juanita O'Bannon Spivey Juanita O'Bannon Spivey, 86, of Martin, died Sunday, February 25, 2007, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mrs. Spivey were held Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Burial followed in East Side Cemetery in Martin. Rev. Lee Clements officiated the services. Mrs. Spivey was a retired elementary schoolteacher at Arthurdale West Elementary School in Virginia and a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She was born July 30, 1921 in Valiant, Oklahoma to the late John O'Bannon and Narcissus Austin O'Bannon. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Spivey was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Raymond B. Spivey. Mrs. Spivey is survived by a son, Kim R. Spivey of Martin; a daughter, LuWan Spivey of Martin; a sister, Lula Mae Modzelewski of Sayerville, New Jersey; and two grandchildren, Shea O'Bannon Spivey and Donovan Rhea Spivey.
Lettie L. Dunn Holt Lettie L. Dunn Holt, 97, died Saturday, February 24, 2007. She was born on January 14, 1910 in Sugar Tree, Tennessee, to Albert and Selma (Patton) Riley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Dunn; two grandsons, Mark and Philip Brooks. Surviving are her three daughters, Jean (Doug) Brooks, Rita (Herb) Twichell, and Nancy (Fred) Evenson, all of Holt; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at the Estes-Leadley Holt-Delhi Chapel, with the Rev. Edgar Owens of Olivet Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Morris Cemetery in Greenfield.
Margaret Fortune Margaret Fortune, 97, of Gleason, died Thursday, February 22, 2007, at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Fortune were held Sunday, February 25, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Gallimore Funeral Home in Gleason. Burial followed in Olive Branch Cemetery in Como. Rev. Michael Simmons officiated the services. Mrs. Fortune was a retired waitress. She was born October 9, 1909 in Central City, Kentucky to the late Angus and Lou Ella (McConnell) Buskill. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fortune was also preceded in death by her husband, Dee Witt Fortune; and a daughter, Margie Moody. Mrs. Fortune is survived by a son-in-law, Jerry Moody of Gleason; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Mrs. Tuck were held Monday, February 26, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., at East Side Cemetery in Martin. Rev. Danny Zickefoose officiated the services. Mrs. Tuck was a homemaker. She was born September 27, 1941 in Martin to the late Edgar Lee Taylor and Louise Lamb Taylor. Mrs. Tuck is survived by four daughters, Laura Snyder of Fulton, Kentucky, Dallas Southern of Fulton, Kentucky, Anita Clark of Fulton, Kentucky, and Susan Gray of Clinton, Kentucky; two brothers, Leroy Taylor Martin, and Robert Taylor of Martin; two sisters, Mina Powers of Lansing, Michigan, and Ann Lawrence of Martin; thirteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Maynard were held Friday, February 23, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Burial followed in Cates Cemetery near Martin. Bro. Jim Barnhouse officiated the services. Mrs. Maynard was a housekeeper and a member of Mack's Grove Baptist Church near Dresden. She was a native of Union City. Mrs. Maynard was preceded in death by a son, James A. Cleek. Mrs. Maynard is survived by her husband, Mr. Tommy Maynard of Dresden; a daughter, Amanda K. Andrews of Dresden; five sons, Joshua Lee Andrews of Jackson, Jonathan Royce Cleek of Martin, William Bruce Cleek of Martin, William Thomas Maynard of Dresden, and Andrew Mason Maynard of Dresden; her parents, John and Wanda Sue Davis of Paris; two brothers, John Davis of Dresden, and Randy Davis of Dukedom; and her grandmother, Mrs. Dociey Davis of Hickman, Kentucky.

Vernon Rozelle Farlow Vernon Rozelle Farlow, 71, of Dresden, died Wednesday, February 21, 2007, at McKenzie Healthcare Center. Funeral services for Mr. Farlow were held Sunday, February 25, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. Bro. Nathan Horton officiated the services. Mr. Farlow was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Dresden. Mr. Farlow was a native of Jefferson City, Missouri and the son of the late Charley and Lillian Goldman Farlow. In addition to his parents, Mr. Farlow was also preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Lela Mae Snider Farlow; and a stepson, Harry D. Gallimore. Mr. Farlow is survived by two daughters, Donna L. (Jerry) Mask of McKenzie, and Kelly R. (Clint) Fuqua of Gleason; a stepdaughter, Carolyn S. (Charles) Bone of Munford, Tennessee; three sons, Vernon A. (Pamela) Farlow of Lampasas, Texas, Charles K. (Angela) Farlow of Killeen, Texas, and E. Scott (Barbara) Farlow of Gleason; two stepsons, Michael S. (Pam) Gallimore of Dresden, and Larry L. Gallimore of Dresden; sixteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
