Skyhawks to sponsor
closest to the pin caravan |
|
The Office
of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of
Tennessee at Martin will sponsor a Closest to the Pin
Golf Caravan beginning Monday, June 5 at the Fellowship
of Christian Athletes Tournament at Jackson Country
Club.
The caravan was designed to introduce the Skyhawk head
coaches to area golfers and sports fans. Closest to the
pin winners will receive a gift pack valued at $100.
The caravan will include eight stops, and conclude with
a hole-in-one contest at the annual Skyhawk Club Kickoff
Golf Tournament, Thursday, Aug. 3 at Persimmon Hills in
Sharon.

Bethel College names
Female, Male Athletes of the Year |
|
Bethel College is pleased to
announce that Tiffany Honeycutt (Sr./Lexington, Tenn.)
has been named Bethel College Female Athlete of the Year
for 2005-06.
Tiffany was a senior and played shortstop for the Lady
Wildcats. She helped the Lady Wildcats win the regular
season KIAC Title, NAIA Region XII Title and Bethel's
first ever NAIA National Tournament birth. Tiffany
batted .470 with a .786 slugging percentage, with 9 home
runs, and 34 runs batted in. She ranked second in the
KIAC in batting average, second in home runs and fifth
in RBI.
Tiffany was also named KIAC MVP, and she was also
awarded as the NAIA Region XII MVP.
In addition, Bethel College has named Thomas Haynes as
Bethel College Male Athletic of the Year for 2005-06.
Thomas is a 6-4 forward and just completed his junior
season.
Thomas ranked fourth in the KIAC with 14.43 points per
game. He ranked number one in steals averaging
2.17/game.
