After dropping a pair of games in Wednesday morning action in the first day of the 41st Annual Martin Lions Club Christmas Tournament at Westview High School, both the Lady Lions and Lions moved into the losers’ bracket on Thursday morning.

The Lady Lions struggles continued into the second day of the tournament as Germantown jumped out to an early lead then held off a late Dresden rally to take a 53-48 win. In boys action, Dresden fell 73-56.

Though the Westview girls took the Lion's Club Invitational Christmas Tournament Championship, the Chargers, on the other hand, came up second place against last year's defending Class A state champions.

Paired up against Memphis Mitchell in the final girls' game of the tournament, the game stayed a close one for the first half until the Lady Chargers left the Lady Tigers behind in the second.

For the last game of the evening and for the tournament, the Westview Chargers and the Middleton Tigers both made it to the top to go up against each other, but the WHS boys were unable to pull off a win to take the Boys' Championship Friday.
