The Gleason boys nearly took home a hard-fought victory on Monday night. After rallying in the second half to take the lead, the Bulldogs fell thanks to a late layup by McKenzie 48-46 at Gleason High School.
In girls action, the Lady Bulldogs dominated McKenzie 76-29.

Gleason was able to keep it close through much of the game, eventually taking the lead multiple times in the second half, but fell on a late Brice Priestley layup with two seconds left in the game.
After an early layup from Darus Riding jumper to start the scoring for McKenzie, Byron Fuqua and Adam Bennett gave Gleason the lead with a pair of deuces. However, a trey from Hunter Downing sparked a short run that was capped by a pair of Beau Brown shots to give McKenzie a three-point lead with 3:20 left in the first frame. A three-pointer from Fuqua and a free throw from Brandon Bailey gave the Bulldogs a brief lead that the Rebels reclaimed with a jumper from Derek Carr with 51 seconds left to make the score 11-10 at the end of the first frame.
McKenzie was able to add to its lead in the second frame, thanks to a sluggish second stanza by the Bulldogs. Drew Hayes opened an 8-0 run with six points to help push the Rebel lead to nine points. A three-pointer from Fuqua and a jumper from Bennett late in the frame countered a Julian Tucker deuce to make the score 21-15 at the half.

Despite trailing for three of the four quarters on Monday night, a fourth-quarter rally gave Dresden a 13-point victory at Milan during the Milan/Medina Tournament.
Brittney McElrath got six points for Dyer to counter three points from Sarah Morton to help the Lady Eagles take an 8-3 lead after one frame.
Dresden rallied in the second frame, getting four points from Breanna Dubruiel to help get the Lady Lions to double digits, but Dyer added 10 points of its own to make the score 18-10 at the half.
Dresden was able to hold the Lady Eagles to only four points in the third quarter - all from McElrath - and score 10 in the frame themselves to cut the Dyer lead to 22-20 after three frames. Dresden then dominated the final frame, outscoring Dyer 16-1 over the final six minutes to take the win.
Courtney McMillan led the way for Dresden with 11 points, 10 coming in the second half.
