Blanche Boyett Roberts

     Blanche Boyett Roberts, 86, of Martin, died Friday, September 22, 2006, at Martin Health Care. Funeral services for Ms. Roberts were held Sunday, September 24, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel in Sharon. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery. Rev. George Butler officiated the services.
     Ms. Roberts was a retired hairdresser. She was born March 5, 1920 in Gibson County.
     Ms. Roberts is survived by two daughters, Kathy Chandler of Dresden, and Kay Smith of Union City; a son, Dr. Ken Roberts of Lexington, Kentucky; a brother, Clinton Boyett of Kenton; two sisters, Faye Bryant of Jackson, Tennessee, and Twyla Walker of McKenzie; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Edna Sue Phelps

     Edna Sue Phelps, 74, of Gleason, died Thursday, September 21, 2006, at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Phelps were held Sunday, September 24, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel in Gleason. Burial followed in Carroll County Memorial Gardens. Rev. David Lancaster officiated the services.
     Mrs. Phelps was retired from Tecumseh and was a member of Meredian Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was born December 14, 1931 in Huntingdon to the late John Eugene and Jennie Estelle Paschall Pryor.
     Mrs. Phelps is survived by her husband, James Ted Phelps; a son, Jim Phelps of Gleason; a daughter, Susie Mitchell of Skullbone; a brother, Steve Pryor of Gleason; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Gracie Odell Teague

     Gracie Odell Teague, 90, of Dresden, died Tuesday, September 19, 2006, at Weakley County Nursing Home in Dresden. Funeral services for Mrs. Teague were held Thursday, September 21, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel in Gleason. Burial followed in Hopewell Cemetery. Bro. Dennis Cobb and Bro. Darrell Pollock officiated the services.
     Mrs. Teague was a homemaker and a member of Dresden Pentecostal Church. She was born February 23, 1916 in Latham to the late Jessie Bailey and Josie Suggs Bailey. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Teague was also preceded in death by her husband, George Teague.
     Mrs. Teague is survived by a daughter, Linda June Anderson of Flint, Michigan; a son, Chuck Slaughter of Troy; a stepson, Jerry Wayne Teague of Flint, Michigan; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.

John Earl Marshall

     John Earl Marshall, 78, of Milan, died Sunday, September 3, 2006, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Marshall were held Tuesday, September 5, 2006, at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Milan. Burial followed in Gardner Cemetery in Martin. Sam McElroy officiated the services.
     Mr. Marshall was a retired self-employed paint contractor and a veteran of the United States Army serving in WWII. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Milan and the George Cantrell Sunday School Class. Mr. Marshall was born December 11, 1927 in Weakley County to the late Jesse and Mae Thedford Marshall.
     Mr. Marshall is survived by his wife, Betty S. Marshall of Milan; a son, Terry Marshall (wife, Cindy) of Ashland City, Tennessee; stepsons, Adney Cross (wife, Vel) of Nashville, Tennessee, and Alan Cross (wife, Virginia) of McKenzie; a daughter, Pam Dixon (husband, David) of Germantown, Tennessee; stepdaughters, Anne Wernet (husband, Bill) of Whiteville, Tennessee, and Alison Shores (husband, David) of Ashland City, Tennessee; a half-brother, Jere Webb (wife, Shelby) of Martin; two half-sisters, Bettye Webb Tidwell (husband, Dick) of Martin, and Ellen Webb Pope (husband, Alan) of Virginia; fourteen grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

Julia Ruth Summers

     Julia Ruth Summers, 90, of Martin, died Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at Weakley County Nursing Home in Dresden. Funeral services for Mrs. Summers were held Friday, September 22, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial followed in East Side Cemetery in Martin. Bro. Roger S. Oldham officiated the services.
     Mrs. Summers was retired from Martin Manufacturing and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was born July 24, 1916 in Palmersville to the late Tom Wright and Victoria Bowlin Wright. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Summers was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald (Bill) T. Summers; two brothers, Cecil Wright and Junior Wright; and three sisters, Kathelene Moore, Irene Tucker, and Alma Birchem.
     Mrs. Summers is survived by a son, John Reynolds (wife, Nancy) of Martin; two grandchildren, Teresa Barner (husband, Donnie) of Martin, and Jim Reynolds (wife, Lisa) of Martin; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Barner (wife, Heather), Cody Barner, Zackery Reynolds, and Jacob Reynolds; great-great-grandchild, Emma Barner; and step-great-grandchild, Camille Spaulding.

Leila Frances Hollandsworth

     Leila Frances Hollandsworth, 83, of Dresden, died Tuesday, September 19, 2006, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Hollandsworth were held Thursday, September 21, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Burial followed in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely. Bro. Nathan Horton and Bro. Paul Bramlett officiated the services.
     Mrs. Hollandsworth was retired from Bay-Bee Shoe Company and was a member of Siloam Baptist Church near Dresden. She was a native of Benton County and the daughter of the late Dick and Bertha Diviney Fulcher. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hollandsworth was also preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Rex Ivy; a daughter, Deborah Ogden; and a grandchild.
     Mrs. Hollandsworth is survived by a daughter, Carolyn McAlister of Dresden; a son, Teddy Ivy of Ridgely; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Patricia Ann Mount

     Patricia Ann Mount, 66, of Martin, died Saturday, September 23, 2006, at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Mount were held Tuesday, September 26, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial followed in East Side Cemetery in Martin. Rev. Wayne Perkins officiated the services.
     Mrs. Mount was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church. She was born April 16, 1940 in Lansing, Michigan. Mrs. Mount was preceded in death by her husband, William Blaine Mount; and a son, Randy Pencik Mount.
     Mrs. Mount is survived by a son, Billy Mount of Gleason; three daughters, Jackie Choate of Knoxville, Tennessee, Renee Gray of Oakland, Tennessee, and Mickie Lane of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; her father, J.C. Melton of Eau Claire, Michigan; her mother, Helen Parham Ford of Martin; a sister, Judy Tuck of Richmond, Virginia; and ten grandchildren.
