Betty C. Webb
Betty C. Webb, 91, of Greenfield, died Tuesday, April
25, 2006, at VanAyer Manor in Martin. Services for Ms. Webb
were held Friday, April 28, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. in the
Williams Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Morris
Cemetery in Greenfield. Donald Doster officiated the
services.
Ms. Webb was a Cook. She attended Moores Chapel Baptist
Church. Ms. Webb was born October 14, 1914 to the late
Walter Harrison Arnold and Eda Alice Robbins.
Ms. Webb is survived by her daughter, Annie (Webb)
Felgenhauer of Springfield, Tennessee; her son, James E.
Webb of Springville, Tennessee; five grandchildren and eight
great grandchildren. Charles Randell Williams
Charles Randell Williams of Fort Payne, Alabama,
formerly of Dresden, died April 18, 2006 at the Jackson
Madison County General Hospital in Jackson. Funeral services
for Mr. Williams were held on April 21, 2006 at Rainsville
Community Church in Rainsville, Alabama.
Mr. Williams was a resident of Dresden for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Faye Williams.
Mr. Williams is survived by his six children: Kenneth
(Sparky) Williams of Dresden, Randy Williams of Dresden,
Barbara Evans of Latham, Nancy Brown of Nashville, Brenda
Williams of Dresden and Michael Williams of Fort Payne,
Alabama. Mr. Williams is also survived by 12 grandchildren
and one great grandchild. Mr. Larry Green
Mr. Larry Green, 64 of Guthrie, Kentucky died Tuesday,
April 25, 2006, at the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.
Services for Mr. Green were held Friday, April 28, 2006, at
11:00 a.m. in the Murphy Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in
the East Side Cemetery.
Mr. Green served in the US Army. He was a member of the
Church of Christ and a graduate of Martin High School. He
was born February 23, 1942 to the late Albert W. Green and
Cleo Osteen Green. In addition to his parents, Mr. Green was
preceded in death by his brothers, Lawton Green and Marvin
Green.
Mr. Green is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Weaks
Green of Guthrie, Kentucky; a son, Craig Green of Lewisburg,
Kentucky; and two brothers, J.A. Green of Dresden and Fred
Green of Jackson. Mr. William Dale Roberts
Mr. William Dale Roberts, 73 of Dresden died Friday,
April 28, 2006, at the Henry County Medical Center in Paris.
Services for Mr. Roberts were held Monday, May 1, 2006, at
11:00 a.m. in the Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in
the Wesley's Chapel Cemetery near Dresden. Bro. Terry
Griffin officiated the services.
Mr. Roberts was a Fork Lift Operator for World Color.
He was a native of Palmersville and Weakley County. He was
on the son of the late William Chester and Bessie Viola
Williams Roberts. He was a Baptist. Mr. Roberts was preceded
in death by a son, Jerry Dale Roberts and a brother, Ray
Roberts.
Mr. Roberts is survived by a son Mike (Julie) Roberts
of Gleason; a sister, Monette Davis of Mt. Juliet; a
brother, Lynn Howard Roberts of Dresden; and one grandchild.
Mr. William M. "Bill" White
Mr. William M. "Bill" White, 91, of Dresden, died
Saturday, April 29, 2006, at the Volunteer Community
Hospital in Martin. Services for Mr. White were held
Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at the Martin Church of
Christ in Martin. Burial was in the Sunset Cemetery. Bro. E.
Claude Gardner and Max Speight officiated the services.
Bowlin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. White was a Retired County Supervisor for Farmers
Home Administration. He was a native of Leach, TN in Carroll
County. Mr. White was born to William Franklin and Minnie
Lee Merritt White. He was a member of the Martin Church of
Christ. Mr. White was a WWII US Navy Veteran and a 1940
graduate of Bethel College and he received his Master's
Degree from UTK in 1942. In addition to his parents, Mr.
White was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Rose Doster;
a sister, Madeline Anderson; and three brothers, Tom White,
Ray White and Waldon White.
Mr. White is survived by his wife Mrs. Virginia Inez
Mitchell White of Dresden; seven daughters, Pat Bradberry of
Dresden, Susan (Mike) Spence of Dresden, Billie Jo Harris of
Dresden, Pam (Ralph) Berlin of Triune, Jane (Russ) Cherry of
Memphis, Terry White of Nashville and Karon Daniels of
Dresden; a son, Mitch (Bendy) White of Dresden; two
brothers, Jamie (Lucille) White of Huntingdon and Weldon
(Robbie) White of Lowell, Indiana; eighteen grandchildren
and ten great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hilda Myers
Thurmond
Mrs. Hilda Myers Thurmond, 77, of Martin died Tuesday,
April 25, 2006, at the Martin Health Care. Services for Mrs.
Thurmond were private.
Mrs. Thurmond was a Registered Anesthetist. She had
worked at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Obion County
General Hospital in Union and was a nurse for Dr. E.C.
Thurmond, Jr. Mrs. Thurmond was a member of the First United
Methodist Church. She was born June 17, 1928 to the late T.M.
Myers and Elizabeth Marsh Myers. In addition to her parents,
Mrs. Thurmond was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. E.C.
Thurmond, Jr.
Mrs. Thurmond is survived by a daughter, Rebecca
Beckett of Kenton; three sisters, June Hodge of Ocean
Springs, Mississippi, Billie Brezeale of Wichita, Kansas and
Dee Jackson of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; and two
grandchildren, Bonnie Hill and Michael Mullins.
Mrs. Lee Nell Milner Freeman
Mrs. Lee Nell Milner Freeman, 74, of Martin, died
Sunday, April 30, 2006, at the Madison County General
Hospital in Jackson. Services for Mrs. Freeman were held
today, Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Murphy
Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Gardner Cemetery.
Rev. Don McCulley officiated the services.
Mrs. Freeman was retired from the City State Bank. She
was a Baptist and a graduate of Martin High School. Mrs.
Freeman was born July 8, 1931. She was preceded in death by
her father, Roy Lee Milner.
Mrs. Freeman is survived by her daughter, Lisa Freeman
of Dresden; her mother, Pauline Gardner Milner of Martin; a
brother, Roy Lynn Milner of McKenzie; her aunt, Gladys
Hailey of Martin; two nephews, Roy A. Milner (Brandy) and
Greg Milner (Charlotte); and a niece, Paula Farris (Mark).
