Allen DeWitt Jones
Allen DeWitt Jones, 47, of Sharon, died Wednesday, July 19,
2006, at The Dyersburg Hospital. Services for Mr. Jones were
held Sunday, July 23,2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Gardner Funeral
Home Chapel. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. Rev. Stan
Brooks officiated the services.
Mr. Jones was born February 21, 1959.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Jones of Sharon; mother
and step-father Margie and Jerry Moody of Gleason; two
brother, Christan Ashlar of Martin, Brain Moody of
Shelbyville, Tennessee; three sisters, Debbie Copeland of
Gleason, Sherry McClanahan of Rives, Patricia Stone of
Greenfield; grand-mother Margaret Fortune of Gleason; step-
grandparents, Curtis and Irma Moody.
Eula Marie McDearmon
Eula Marie McDearmon, 95 of Weakley County Nursing Home,
Dresden, died Wednesday, July 19,2006 at the Volunteer
Community Hospital in Martin. Services for Mrs. McDearmon
were held Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Gardner Funeral Home
Chapel. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Dr. Jerry
Summers and Rev. Ronnie Melton officiated the services.
Mrs. McDearmon was born May 3, 1911 in Weakley County.
She is survived by her husband, Woodrow McDearmon of Sharon;
a son, Gary McDearmon of Medina; two daughters, Nancy
McCollum of Sharon; and Robbie McDurman of Lansing,
Michigan; 4 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 8
great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. McDearmon was preceded in death by two sisters, Clara
Compton and Melba Morris; two brothers, Bernie Gallimore and
Alton Gallimore; and two grandchildren, Donnie Melton and
Meeria McCollum.
Kenneth Milton Vick
Kenneth Milton Vick, 87 of Weakley County Nursing Home,
Dresden, died Wednesday, July 19,2006. Services for Mr. Vick
were held Saturday, July 22, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Eastside
Cemetery. Burial was in the Eastside Cemetery. Dr. Jerry
Summers officiated the services.
Mr. Vick was born November 6, 1918 in Murray, Kentucky. He
was an electrician, a Veteran and served in the Army during
WWII. He was also a member of the Masons and the American
Legion.
Mr. Vicks is survived by his wife, Alice Vick of Martin; two
daughters, Ann Marty of Yakima, Washington; and Jennifer
Stegall of Memphis; a step-daughter, Susan Clark of Martin;
one sister, Frankie Jeffress of Martin; 3 grandchildren; 3
great-grandchildren.

Mr. John W. Cavin
Mr. John W. Cavin , 74, died Thursday, July 20, 2006, at the
Volunteer Community Hospital. Graveside services for Mr.
Cavin were held Sunday, July 23, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the
East Side Cemetery in Martin. Rev. Don Bullock officiated
the services. Murphy Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.
Mr. Cavin was a retired Diesel Mechanic with Material
Service Crop in Chicago, Illinois. He was a Baptist and a US
Army Veteran. He was born January 6, 1932 to the late James
Robert Cavin and Zuella Hawks Cavin. Mr. Cavin died along
with his wife, Bonnie Pierce Cavin, in a house fire.
Mr. Cavin is survived by his son John Steven Cavin of
Romeoville, Illinois and his daughter, Linda Renka of
Jackson.
Mrs. Bonnie M. Cavin
Mrs. Bonnie M. Cavin, 68, of Martin, died Thursday, July 20,
2006, at the Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.
Graveside services for Mrs. Cavin were held Sunday, July 23,
2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the East Side Cemetery in Martin. Rev.
Don Bullock officiated the services. Murphy Funeral Home was
in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Cavin was a Homemaker. She was born August 18, 1937 to
the late James Pierce and Blanche Eddie Lee. Mrs. Cavin was
a Baptist. Mrs. Cavin died along with her husband, John W.
Cavin, in a housefire.
Mrs. Cavin is survived by her son, John Steven Cavin of
Romeoville, Illinois; her daughter, Linda Renka of Jackson;
a brother, Harry Pierce of Michigan; a half brother, James
Dyer of Nashville and a half sister, Shirley Hackney of
Goodlettsville.
Robert Lewis Walker
Robert Lewis Walker, 81, of Sharon, died Sunday, July 16,
2006, at the Regional Hospital of Jackson. Services for Mr.
Walker were held Thursday, July 20, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at
the Alamo Baptist Church. Burial was in the Alamo Cemetery.
Rev. Claude Prince officiated the services. Gardner Funeral
Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Walker was a Welder. He was a UAW Member. Mr. Walker was
born April 9, 1925.
Mr. Walker is survived by his daughter, Paula Seabron of
Sharon; four sisters, Barbara Allen Drysdale, Mary Evelyn
McAdams, Evadean Waitmate and Freda Walker; two brothers,
Fred Walker and Jack Walker; two grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.
Edith B. Wimberley
Edith B. Wimberley, 91, of McKenzie, died Sunday, July 23,
2006. Services for Mrs. Wimberley were held Monday, July 24,
2006 at the McKenzie Church of Christ at 3:00 p.m. Burial
was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie. Terry Joe Kee
officiated the services.
Mrs. Jones was born September 23, 1914, in Newbern,
Tennessee to the late Joe and Ada Huffstetler Bridges. She
worked at W.T. Woolworth Store as a clerk. She attended
McKenzie Church of Christ.
She is survived by a son, Joe K. Oliver of Tucson, Arizona;
a daughter, Glenna Sue Calderone of Phoenix, Arizona; a
step-son, Ben Wimberley of Los Angeles, California; two
nephews Harold Kee and Billy Joe Kee both of McKenzie.
Janet L. Swan
Janet L. Swan, 44, of Culver City, California, died
Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at the Holman Hospital. Services
for Ms. Swan were held Monday, July 17, 2006, at 1:30 p.m.
in the Williams Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the
Hornbeak Cemetery in Greenfield. Jean Richardson officiated
the services.
Ms. Swan was born January 26, 1962 in Knoxville.
Ms. Swan is survived by her father, Guy Allison; her mother,
Doris Allison; three sons, Matthew Allison of Knoxville,
Christopher Swan of Culver City, California and Colby Swan
of Culver City, California; and four sisters, Diana Cartee
of Birmingham, Alabama, Suzette Rankin of Knoxville, Sherry
Bowe of Franklin and Kim Edwards of Lebanon.
Mary Louise Stigall Marsh
Mary Louise Stigall Marsh, 87, of Gleason died Sunday July
23, 2006 at the Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.
Services for Mrs. Marsh were held Tuesday, July 25,2006, at
11:00 a.m. in the Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was
in the Hopewell Cemetery in Gleason. Rev. Kenny Carr
officiated the services.
Mrs. Marsh was a retired seamstress for the Kellwood
Company. She was a member at the First Baptist Church of
Gleason. Mrs. Marsh was born March 23,1919. She was born to
the late Frank Upchurch and Effie Miller Upchurch.
She was preceded in death by her spouses, Arvel Stigall and
Junior Marsh, and a son Wilburn Stigall. Also preceding her
in death were two brothers, Willie B. Upchurch and Louis
Upchurch; three sisters, Eva D. Stafford, Jessie Lee Akerson,
and Edan Cook.
She is survived by a son, Billy Stigall of McKenzie; a
daughter, Sylvia Moody of Gleason; eight grandchildren, and
14 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Sammie Leo Bradberry, Sr.
Mr. Sammie Leo Bradberry, Sr., 64, of Dresden, died
Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at the Jackson Madison County
General Hospital in Jackson. Services for Mr. Bradberry were
held Friday, July 21, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. in Bowlin Funeral
Home Chapel in Dresden. Burial was in the Sunset Cemetery.
Bro. Jerry Gallimore officiated the services.
Mr. Bradberry was a retired Custodian for the Weakley County
Courthouse. He was a native of Weakley County. Mr. Bradberry
was a member of Liberty Baptist Church near Dresden. Mr.
Bradberry was preceded in death by his father, Rufus
Bradberry.
Mr. Bradberry is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Dean
Cook Bradberry of Dresden; two daughters, Cindy Gallimore of
Dresden and Lindy Bratton of Dresden; three sons, Johnny
Brooks of Dresden, Sammie Bradberry, Jr. of Dresden and
James Bradberry of Dresden; his mother, Mrs. Florence Lenona
Tucker Bradberry of Dresden; and 13 grandchildren.
Mrs. Dorothy McGowan Brewer
Mrs. Dorothy McGowan Brewer, 72, died Saturday, July 22,
2006 at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Services for
Mrs. Brewer were held Monday, July 24, 2006 at Murphy
Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Burial was in East Side
Cemetery in Martin. Rev. Guy Wilkerson officiated the
services
Mrs. Brewer was born April 16, 1934 in Sharon, Tennessee to
the late James Willie and Delia Bassent McGowan. She was a
secretary for Teletype Corporation and SeeBurg Corporation,
Retired from Housing Office, University of Tennessee Martin.
She was a member of Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Harold T. Brewer of Martin;
two sons, Larry Thomas Brewer of Madison, Mississippi and
Alan Wayne of Martin; 4 grandchildren and 2
great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly
Jean Copeland, and a brother, Jerry McGowan.
Rosalie P. Sullivan
Rosalie P. Sullivan, 55, of Greenfield, died Monday, July
10, 2006, at the Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.
Services for Ms. Sullivan were held Monday, July 17, 2006,
at 11:00 a.m. in the Williams Funeral Home Chapel. Burial
was in the Highland Cemetery in Greenfield. Joe Lusby and
Rev. Randy Stacy officiated the services.
Ms. Sullivan worked for a housewife. She attended the First
Baptist Church. Ms. Sullivan was born April 15, 1951 in
Milan. She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara
Sullivan.
Ms. Sullivan is survived by her father, Nathan Porter of
Greenfield; a son, Spencer Sullivan of Florida; a daughter,
Cyrene (Sullivan) Sullivan of Florida; two sisters, Natalie
Scates of Greenfield and Sharis Porter of Greenfield; three
brothers, Eric Porter of Martin, Rory Porter of Jackson and
Than Porter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Nathan
Porter Library in Greenfield.
