Donald Ray Workman

    
Donald Ray Workman, 63 of Wingo, Kentucky, died Friday, December 30, 2005, at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield. Services for Mr. Workman were held Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Wingo. Burial was in the Little Obion Cemetery in Wingo. Rev. Michael Farmer and Rev. Spence Pate.
     Mr. Workman was a Farmer and the owner of Workman's Greenhouse. He was a member of Baltimore Baptist Church. Mr. Workman was preceded in death by his parents, Carman and Eva Casey Workman.
     Mr. Workman is survived by his wife, Linda Janes Workman; his son, Brent (Beth) Workman of Pilot Oak, Kentucky; one brother, David Workman of Chicago, Illinois; and two sisters, Doris Kay McClure of Palmersville and Debbie Griffith of Dresden.

 


Charlie Ovelia Teague

     Charlie Ovelia Teague, 101, of Dresden, died Friday, December 30, 2005, at the Martin Health Care Center in Martin. Services for Mrs. Teague were held Monday, January 2, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. in the Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Burial followed in the Pisgah Cemetery near Dresden. Bro. Dennis Cobb and Bro. R.T. Bennett officiated the services.
     Mrs. Teague was a Seamstress at Martin Manufacturing. She was a native of Weakley County and the daughter of the late Charlie and Laura Slaughter. Mrs. Teague was a member of the Dresden Pentecostal Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Teague was preceded in death by her husband Codey Blake "Tody" Teague.
     Mrs. Teague is survived by her son, John R. Teague of Dresden; twelve grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren and twenty great-great-grandchildren.

Lela Esteen Maddox

     Mrs. Lela Esteen Maddox, 95, of Dresden, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at the Hillview Community Living Center in Dresden. Services for Mrs. Maddox were held Friday, December 30, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. in the Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Matheny Grove Cemetery near Palmersville. Elder Houston Patrick officiated the services.
     Mrs. Maddox was a Homemaker. She was a native of Weakley County and the daughter of the late Ras and Bertha Grubbs Roberts. Mrs. Maddox was a member of the Matheny Grove Primitive Baptist Church near Palmersville. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Maddox was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Willie Emerson Maddox.
     Mrs. Maddox is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Melton of Dresden; two sons, Dwayne Maddox of Dresden and Doug Maddox of McKenzie; seven grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren.

Jimmy Dale Davis, Jr.

     Jimmy Dale Davis, Jr., 35, of Dresden, died Saturday, December 24, 2005, at the Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Services for Mr. Davis were held Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Burial was in the Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. Bro. Glen Cooley and Michael Hammonds officiated the services.
     Mr. Davis was a Supervisor at MTD. He was a native of Kennett, Missouri.
     Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dana Marie Jones Davis of Dresden; a daughter, Jessica Neisler of Dresden; his parents, Jimmy Dale (Sr.) and Linda L. Dunn Davis of Sharon; a brother, Thomas Lee Davis of Dresden and his grandmother, Ms. Elizabeth Prince of Dresden.

 

Greathel Watts Keathley

     Greathel Watts Keathley, 85, of Dresden, died Tuesday, December 27, 2005, at the Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Services for Mrs. Keathley were held Saturday, December 31, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. in the Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Macks Grove Cemetery near Dresden. Bro. Don Gregory officiated the services.
     Mrs. Keathley was a Homemaker. She was a native of Weakley County and the daughter of the late Grant and Ider Pearl Parham Watts. Mrs. Keathley was a member of the Old Bethel Baptist Church near Palmersville. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Keathley was preceded in death by her husbands, Adrian McClain and Finis Garrett Keathley and her daughter, Linda Carrington.
     Mrs. Keathley is survived by a grandson, Joey Carrington; a great grandson, Josh Carrington and several nieces and nephews.

 

 

Thomas J. Patrick

    
Thomas J. Patrick, 82, of Dickson, died Monday, December 26, 2005, at the Erin Care and Rehabilitation Center in Dickson. Graveside services for Mr. Patrick were held Thursday, December 29, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at the Brock's Cemetery in Greenfield with burial following. Christian Smith officiated the services. Williams Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
     Mr. Patrick was a Farmer. He was born March 2, 1923 in Rutherford to the late William Monroe Patrick and Kate Leyhue. Mr. Patrick was a WWII Army Veteran.
     Mr. Patrick is survived by his wife, Jerry Patrick of Dickson; a son, Tommy Patrick of Dickson; a brother, Jack Patrick of Charlton, South Carolina; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

 

 

Mary E. Doran

     Mary E. Doran, 70, of Martin, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at her home in Elgin, Illinois. Services for Mrs. Doran were held Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery near Latham. Bro. Larry Humbert officiated the services.
     Mrs. Doran was a Cashier at Wal-Mart. She was a member of the Gardner United Methodist Church. She was a native of Weakley County and the daughter of the late Myrtle Wilkerson. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Doran was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth B. Doran. They were married on June 29, 1952 in Corinth, Mississippi. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jimmy D. Doran and a brother, Charles Melton.
     Mrs. Doran is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (Michael) Przychocki of Elgin, Illinois and Connie (Walter) Shaw of Genoa, Illinois; four sisters, Shirley (Jack) Schroeder of Round Lake Beach, Illinois, Patricia (Ronald) Smith of Round Lake Beach, Illinois, Louise Evans of Marengo, Illinois and Cathy (Bob) Burnett of Chicago, Illinois; a brother, Buddy (Judy) Melton of South Port, Florida; and two grandchildren, Kenny and Wyatt Przychocki.

 

Eugene H. "Gene" Roberts

     Eugene H. "Gene" Roberts, 83, of Dukedom, died Sunday, January 1, 2006, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Graveside services for Mr. Robert were held today, Wednesday, January 4, 2006, at 1:00p.m.at Pleasant View Cemetery in Dukedom. Rev. Joe Williamson officiated the services. Jackson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
     Mr. Roberts was a retired general maintence worker and lived in Florida and the Dukedom area most of his life. He was a Methodist. Mr. Roberts was born on December 23,1922 in Fulton, Kentucky to the late Louise Don and Ruby Bess Linson Roberts. He was also preceded in death by one sister.
     Mr. Roberts is survived by one son, Louis E. Roberts of Knoxville, two grandsons, John Conner Roberts and James Brayden Roberts, both of Knoxville; and one brother, Harold D. Roberts of Monroe, Louisiana.

Jack Williams

    Jack Williams, 93, died Saturday, December 31,2005 at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mr. Williams were held Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at Bowlin Funeral Home with burial following in Pisgah Cemetery. Bro. David Bayer and Bro. Robert Tuck officiated the services.
     Mr. Williams was a factory worker for Dico. He was a native of Hickman, Kentucky and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Latham. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wives, Bessie Hargrove Williams and Marie Wells Williams; his parents, W.B. and Elsie Bradley Williams; five sisters and two brothers.
     Mr. Williams is survived by three daughters, Betty Odle, Tootsie Workman both of Dresden, Maggie Barrix of Mason, Michigan; one son, Harold Williams of Martin, two brothers, Jewell Williams of Hot Spring, Arkansas, and Raymond Williams of Lebanon, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
