Benjamin Earl Hatcher
Benjamin Earl Hatcher, 92, of Greenfield, died Monday,
January 30, 2006, at his home. Private funeral services for
Mr. Hatcher were held at Highland Cemetery in Greenfield.
Mr. Hatcher was a foreman at the Milan Arsenal for 33
years. He was born January 30, 1914 in Greenfield to the
late John R. Hatcher and Edna Howard. In addition to his
parents, Mr. Hatcher was also preceded in death by his wife,
Doris Keel.
Mr. Hatcher is survived by two daughters, Ann (Hatcher)
Gallien of Martin, and Helen Barton of Greenfield; five
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth Ann Dotson
Elizabeth Ann Dotson, 43, of Gleason, died Friday,
January 27, 2006, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dotson were held Monday, January
30, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Gallimore Funeral Home in Gleason.
Burial followed in Hopewell Cemetery in Gleason. Rev. G.W.
Moon officiated the services.
Mrs. Dotson was a homemaker. She was born January 18,
1963 in Chicago, Illinois. Mrs. Dotson was preceded in death
by her father, George Strecker.
Mrs. Dotson is survived by her husband, Aubrey Guy
Dotson; two sons, Sean Martin of South Fulton, and Tony
Dotson of Atwood; a daughter, Jessica Dotson of Atwood; her
mother, Dianne Sonnenbrt; and two grandchildren.
Joe W. Boaz
Joe W. Boaz, 59, of Dresden, died Tuesday, January 24,
2006, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral
services for Mr. Boaz were held Friday, January 27, 2006, at
2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Dresden. Burial
followed in Grove Hill Cemetery near Dresden. Bro. Gene
Burkeen officiated the services.
Mr. Boaz was a high school mathematics teacher for 25 years
and was a member of Grove Hill Methodist Church. He was also
a member of the FFA Alumni Association, National Education
Association, Tennessee Education Association, Weakley County
Education Association, and Mu Alpha Theta. He was a native
of Weakley County and was preceded in death by his father,
John T. Boaz.
Mr. Boaz is survived by two daughters, Paula Jarrard of
Martin, and Christy Lifsey of Martin; his mother, Mrs. Ida
Mae Boaz of Dresden; and three grandsons.
Margaret Faye Tucker
Margaret Faye Tucker, 71, of Dresden, died Monday,
January 30, 2006, at Weakley County Nursing Home in Dresden.
Graveside services for Miss Tucker were held Tuesday,
January 31, 2006, at 12:00 noon at New Hope Cemetery in
Latham. Bro. Kieth Dublin officiated the services.
Miss Tucker was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in
McKenzie. She was born February 10, 1934 in Palmersville to
the late Wilmont and Ruby Parham Tucker.
Miss Tucker is survived by three sisters, Frances
Davidson of Palmersville, Evonne Allen of South Fulton, and
Jane Hooks of Palmersville; a brother, Jerry Tucker of
Hillsboro, Missouri; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Tony Jay McGehee
Tony Jay McGehee, 46, of Martin, died Thursday, January
26, 2006, at his home. Funeral services for Mr. McGehee were
held Sunday, January 29, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Murphy
Funeral Home in Martin. Burial followed in East Side
Cemetery in Martin. Elder Houston Patrick officiated the
services.
Mr. McGehee was employed at Office Products and a
veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a graduate of
Westview High School and the University of Florida and was a
member of Central Baptist Church. Mr. McGehee was born
August 22, 1959 in Union City.
Mr. McGehee is survived by a son, Jay McGehee of
Martin; his parents, James Donald McGehee and Dorothy Marie
Garrigue McGehee of Martin; a brother, Tracy McGehee of
Martin; his maternal grandparents, Earnest and Marie
Garrigus of Martin.
Edna Gallimore Huffstatler
Edna Gallimore Huffstatler, 58, of Dresden, died
Friday, January 27, 2006, at Western Baptist Hospital in
Paducah, Kentucky. Funeral services for Mrs. Huffstatler
were held Sunday, January 29, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Bowlin
Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Burial followed in Jolley
Springs Cemetery near Dresden. Rev. Bobby Shannon officiated
the services.
Mrs. Huffstatler was a homemaker and a member of Travis
Chapel Methodist Church in Dresden. She was a native of
Weakley County. Mrs. Huffstatler was preceded in death by
her father, Charles Raymond Gallimore; a sister, Sue Mink;
and a brother, Charles Gallimore.
Mrs. Huffstatler is survived by her husband, Mr. James
W. Huffstatler of Dresden; four daughters, Tammy Sue
Reynolds of Darden, Tennessee, Laura Roach of McKenzie,
Stacie Hanley of Dresden, and Tina Beasley of Lexington,
Tennessee; two sons, Ray Elliott of Murfreesboro, Tennessee,
and James W. Huffstatler, Jr. of Dresden; a sister, Joann
Reynolds of Sharon; and seven grandchildren.
Jessie Faye Hines
Jessie Faye Hines, 71, of Gleason, died Sunday,
January 22, 2006, at Life Care Center of Bruceton. Graveside
services for Mrs. Hines were held Monday, January 23, 2006,
at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie. Rev. Kenny
Carr officiated the services.
Mrs. Hines was a retired factory worker from H.I.S.
after 37 years. She was born February 8, 1934 in McKenzie to
the late Allen and Mary (Hodge) Presson. In addition to her
parents, Mrs. Hines was also preceded in death by her
husband, Jack Hines.
Mrs. Hines is survived by two sons, Gary Hines of
Gleason, and David Hines of Gleason; three brothers, John
Presson of Gleason, Robert L. Presson of Lewisburg,
Tennessee, and Daniel Allen Presson, Jr. of Sale Creek,
Tennessee; two sisters, Mattie Morgan of Gleason, and Bettye
Nan Reed of McKenzie; and one grandchild.
Lawrence Edward Smith
Lawrence Edward Smith, 75, of Astatula, Florida,
formerly of Martin, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006, at his
home. Graveside services for Mr. Smith were held Monday,
January 30, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at East Side Cemetery in
Martin. Rev. Roger S. Oldham officiated the services.
Mr. Smith was a retired electrician for Clarksville
Metal Forger and a veteran of the United States Navy. He was
a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Smith was born
August 7, 1930 in Winter Garden, Florida to the late
Stonewall Jackson Smith and Ollie V. Willis Smith. In
addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was also preceded in
death by his wife, Martha Dean Baker Smith.
Mr. Smith is survived by two sons, William E. Smith of
Astatula, Florida, and Richard C. Smith of Dover, Tennessee;
a daughter, Frenda Kay Rowland of Anderson, South Carolina;
and a sister, Margaret Clark of Ocoee, Florida.
Terry W. Finney
Terry W. Finney, 55, of Greenfield, died Sunday,
January 29, 2006, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.
Funeral services for Mr. Finney will be held today,
Wednesday, February 1, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Gearin's Chapel
Church in Greenfield. Burial will follow in East Side
Cemetery in Martin. Kenneth Williams and Jerry Powell will
officiate the services.
Mr. Finney was the owner of Weakley County Fence Co.
and attended Gearin's Chapel in Greenfield. He was born July
6, 1950 to the late James Russell Finney and Imogene
Williams.
Mr. Finney is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Elliott)
Finney of Greenfield; a son, Russ Finney of Sharon;
daughter-in-law, Tina (Boyd) Finney; and a granddaughter,
Kaci Lynn Finney.
