Frances Galey Cantrell
Frances Galey Cantrell, 89, of Greenfield, died
Thursday, August 24, 2006, at Weakley County Nursing Home in
Dresden. Funeral services for Mrs. Cantrell were held
Sunday, August 27, 2006, at 4:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral
Home Chapel in Greenfield. Burial followed in Meridian
Cemetery in Greenfield. Wayne Perkins and David Worley
officiated the services.
Mrs. Cantrell was a former employ of Kellwood and
attended Bethel Baptist Church. She was born September 8,
1916 to the late John Audie Galey and Viola Blanch (Ellis)
Galey. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cantrell was also
preceded in death by her husband, Joe David Cantrell.
Mrs. Cantrell is survived by a cousin, Georgie Robert
Ellis of Dyer; four nieces, Barbara Parish of Michigan,
Marsha Vaughn of Michigan, Bonnie Carol Pleva of Michigan,
and Peggy Vaughn of Michigan; a great-niece, Sherry Vaughn
of Michigan; and a great-great-niece, Ona Marie Vaughn of
Michigan. Gail Elaine Mayo
Gail Elaine Mayo, 44, of Sharon, died Sunday, August
20, 2006, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral
services for Ms. Mayo were held Thursday, August 24, 2006,
at 1:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial
followed in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. Corey Sawyers
officiated the services.
Ms. Mayo was a homemaker and attended the Church of
Christ. She was born November 7, 1961 in Martin.
Ms. Mayo is survived by a daughter, Dixie Kendall of
Geneva, Kentucky; her mother, Millie (Eilers) Adams of
Dresden; three sisters, Julie Adams of Greenfield, Ellen
Adams of Nashville, and Suzanne Crowell of South Fulton; two
brothers, Brent Adams of Dresden, and Ken Adams of Union
City; and one grandchild. Judy Erwin
Hester
Judy Erwin Hester, 58, of Sharon, died Sunday, August
20, 2006, at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Hester were
held Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the First
Baptist Church. Burial followed in Gardner Cemetery. Dr.
Jerry Summers and Rev. Franklin Gardner officiated the
services.
Mrs. Hester was a schoolteacher at Sharon Elementary
School. She was born August 12, 1948 in Sharon.
Mrs. Hester is survived by her husband, James Arthur
Hester of Sharon; two sons, John Hester of Antioch,
Tennessee, and Michael Hester of Antioch, Tennessee; a
daughter, Jennifer (Jerry) Ramsey of Martin; a brother,
Barry Erwin of Sharon; and two grandchildren.
Wiley Daniel Stone
Wiley Daniel Stone, 55, of Greenfield, died Friday,
August 25, 2006, at The Med. Funeral services for Mr. Stone
were held Monday, August 28, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Williams
Funeral Home Chapel in Greenfield. Burial followed in Morris
Cemetery in Greenfield. Roy Auvenshine and Michael Simmons
officiated the services.
Mr. Stone was a factory worker and attended Jolley
Springs Baptist Church. He was born May 8, 1951 in Obion
County.
Mr. Stone is survived by his wife, Patricia Stone of
Greenfield; two daughters, Katrina (Stone) Trimble of
Greenfield, and Stacy (Stone) Jones of Martin; a son, James
Stone of Dresden; his parents, Ida (Bates) Stone of Kenton
and William Stone of Kenton; two brothers, Roy Stone of
Trimble, and Shannon Stone of Sharon; and seven
grandchildren. Zella Mae Casey
Zella Mae Casey, 98, of Sharon, died Wednesday, August
23, 2006, at her home. Funeral services for Ms. Casey were
held Sunday, August 27, 2006, at 3:00 p.m. at Gardner
Funeral Home Chapel in Sharon. Burial followed in Tansil
Cemetery. Rev. Harold Stricker officiated the services.
Ms. Casey was a homemaker. She was born November 24,
1907 in Palmersville.
Ms. Casey is survived by two sons, Bobby (Ann) Baker of
Sharon, and James (Sue) Baker of Memphis; a stepson, Jr.
Casey of Latham; two stepdaughters, Peggy Vinson of Sharon,
and Betty Warren of Sharon; a brother, J.W. Doran of
Lansing, Michigan; a sister, Eva Schroeder of Lansing,
Michigan; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two
great-great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren.
