Beverly Dawn Glisson Riggins
Beverly Dawn Glisson Riggins, 51, of Milan, formerly of
Dresden, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at Jackson Madison
County General Hospital in Jackson. Graveside services for
Ms. Riggins were held Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at 2:00
p.m. at Hornbeak Cemetery in Greenfield. Bro. Richard
Carlson officiated the services.
Ms. Riggins was a Sleep Lab Technician and a member of
the Church of Christ. She was born in Union City.
Ms. Riggins is survived by two daughters, Kelly Riggins
of Latham, and Jamie Leeper of Milan; a son, Damon A.
Riggins of Louisville, Kentucky; her parents, Jack and Retha
Glisson of Dresden; and two brothers, Buddy Glisson of
Dresden, and John Glisson of Milan. Brenda Gail Bell
Brenda Gail Bell, 54, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, died
Friday, April 14, 2006. A native of Kennett, Missouri, she
was the daughter of Doyle G. Lafferty of Westmoreland,
Tennessee and the late Georgia Atteberry Lafferty. Mrs. Bell
was a member of Belle Aire Baptist Church, a U.S. Air Force
veteran and a medical office manager.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 17, 2006, at
1:00 p.m. at Belle Aire Baptist Church with Dr. Dean Sisk
and Rev. John Dent officiating. Burial will be in the
Donnell Cemetery, Auburntown, Tennessee.
Mrs. Bell is survived by her husband, Charles W. Bell,
formerly of Weakley County; her father, Doyle G. Lafferty of
Westmoreland, Tennessee; a daughter, Allison Rachel Wheat of
Murfreesboro; sons, Michael Shawn Anderson of Murfreesboro,
and Trevor Wayne Anderson of Murfreesboro; stepdaughters,
Carol Brook Bell of Pompano Beach, Florida, and Kimberley
Bell Thomas of Knoxville; stepsons, Bradley Buchanan Bell of
Smithville, North Carolina, and Charles Caldwell Bell of
Davie, Florida; a brother, Carey Lafferty of Gallatin,
Tennessee; a sister, Georgina Broadrick of Gallatin; and six
grandchildren. Deborah Power Loew
Deborah Power Loew, widow of Tyrone Power, died Monday,
April 3, 2006 in Los Angeles, California.
Mrs. Loew was the daughter of the late Freddie
Hungerford of Tunica and stepdaughter of S.R. Hungerford,
III of Lancaster, South Carolina.
She is survived by two sons, Tyrone Power, IV of Los
Angeles and Gerald Loew of Tucson, Arizona; a daughter,
Cheryl (Howard) Harrison of St. Louis, Missouri; and two
grandsons, Tyrone K. Power and Henry Beneke, IV.
Desieree Gallimore Lynchard
A graveside service for Mrs. Desieree Gallimore
Lynchard, 85, was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 18,
2006, at Sunset Cemetery in Dresden.
Mrs. Lynchard, a retired swing machine operator for
Kellwood Co., and a member of the First Baptist Church in
Trenton, died Friday, April 14, 2006, at Trenton Health Care
Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sydney and
Lurlie Gallimore; and two brothers, Huron and Charles
Gallimore.
She is survived by her husband, James Lynchard of
Trenton; a son, Robert Lynchard and wife, Wendy, of DeBary,
Florida; two daughters, Judy Sander and husband, Ronald, of
Three Way, Tennessee, and Sandra Williford and husband, Don,
of Trenton; six grandchildren, Susan Godkin and husband,
David, of Winter Springs, Florida, Lee Harrell, III, and
wife, Deborah, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, Kim Holmes and
husband, Robbie, of Trenton, Todd Williford of Trenton,
Kristin Williford of Trenton, and Mike Lynchard of
Casselberry, Florida; and four great-grandchildren.
Elsie Ray Lamb Herron
Elsie Ray Lamb Herron, 80, of Dresden, died Sunday,
April 9, 2006, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Herron were held Thursday, April
13, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in
Dresden. Burial followed in Olive Branch Cemetery near Como.
Pastor Luther Hasz officiated the services.
Mrs. Herron was a homemaker and a member of Olive
Branch Methodist Church. She was a native of Weakley County
and the daughter of the late Hubert L. and Hattie Mae
Sutherland Lamb. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Herron was
also preceded in death by her husband, Julian R. Herron; a
sister, Stella M. Lamb; and a brother, Paul L. Lamb.
Mrs. Herron is survived by a daughter, Judy Beardsley
of Jackson; a son, James R. Herron of Orlando, Florida;
three sisters, Melba F. Shaffer of Sandwich, Illinois, Relma
G. Williams of Midwest City, Oklahoma; two brothers, Walter
K. Lamb of Dresden, and B.J. Lamb of Maple Park, Illinois;
and three grandchildren, James R. Herron, Jr., Shawna D.

Durham
Jainniene McWherter Durham, 35, of Dresden, died
Saturday, April 15, 2006, at Jackson Madison County General
Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee. Graveside services for Mrs.
Durham were held Monday, April 17, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at
Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. Bro. Stan Brooks officiated the
services.
Mrs. Durham was an LPN for Martin Healthcare and a
Baptist by faith. She was born in Jackson, Tennessee to the
late Larry and Betty Jean McWherter Wallace. In addition to
her parents, Mrs. Durham was also preceded in death by her
husband, Mr. Alan Durham.
Mrs. Durham is survived by a son, Tyler Pate Wisdom of
Sharon; friend, Robbie Wisdom of Union City; and uncle,
Larry McWherter of Memphis. Madeline Hall Pritchett
Madeline Hall Pritchett, 95, of Martin, died Sunday,
April 16, 2006, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pritchett will be held Thursday,
April 20, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in
Martin. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery in Martin.
Rev. Larry Kendrick will officiate the services.
Mrs. Pritchett was a homemaker and a member of the
First United Methodist Church. She was the founder of Xi
Zeta Chapter of Chi Omega at the University of Tennessee at
Martin, where she was a violinist and took part in many
different music programs. Mrs. Pritchett was born November
29, 1910 in Friendship, Tennessee to the late Ben F. Hall
and Lora McCullum Hall. In addition to her parents, Mrs.
Pritchett was also preceded in death by her husband, E.B.
(Bud) Pritchett, Sr.; a son, Bill Pritchett; and a sister,
Elizabeth Blalock.
Mrs. Pritchett is survived by three sons, E.B. (Buddy)
Pritchett, Jr. and wife, Ann, of Martin, Mac Pritchett and
wife, Dee, of Martin, and Bob Pritchett and wife, Margaret,
of Martin; daughter-in-law, Mary Pritchett; a sister,
Ernestine Scull of Wheaton, Illinois; nine grandchildren,
Lee Pritchett, Jon Pritchett, Stan Pritchett, Lora McDonald,
Mike Pritchett, Amy Baldwin, Beth Arnold, Hall Pritchett,
and Chris Pritchett; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandchild. Nettie Joyce Barnett
Nettie Joyce Barnett, 61, of Dresden, died Friday,
April 14, 2006, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.
Funeral services for Mrs. Barnett were held Monday, April
17, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in
Dresden. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. Bro.
Phillip Smith officiated the services.
Mrs. Barnett was a Personal Nurse's Aide and a member
of Davis Memorial Baptist Church near Dresden. She was born
in Dyersburg to the late Henry Wesley Samuel and Annie Mae
Canaster Goodman. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barnett
was also preceded in death by a brother, Walter Samuel
Goodman; and a grandchild, Morgan Elizabeth Sledd.
Mrs. Barnett is survived by her husband, Mr. Tolbert
Junior Barnett of Dresden; four daughters, Melinda Holdeman
of Union City, Charlotte Lewis of Dyersburg, Denise Barnett
Sledd of Dresden, and Jennifer Ballard of Dresden; two
sisters, Flossie Haggard of South Carolina, and Lula Bell
Blaylock of Alabama; and seven grandchildren.
Theodore "Ted" Bishop
Theodore "Ted" Bishop, 76, of Martin, died Friday,
April 7, 2006, at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Bishop
will be held today, Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at 11:00 a.m.
at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial will follow in East
Side Cemetery in Martin. Rev. Terry Griffin will officiate
the services.
Mr. Bishop was a retired mechanic for Illinois Central
Railroad and a member of Bible Union Baptist Church. He was
also a veteran of the United States Army serving in the
Korean Conflict. Mr. Bishop was born April 7, 1930 in
Dallas, Texas to the late F.D. Bishop and Cora Holt Bishop.
Mr. Bishop is survived by his wife, Mrs. Loretta
Bondurant Bishop of Martin; two sons, Jim Bishop of
Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Mike (Brenda) Bishop of
Vicksburg, Mississippi; two daughters, Cathy (Greg) Head of
Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Leigh (Paul) Lewis of Clinton,
Missouri; two stepsons, Terry (Pat) Johnson of Martin, and
Tracy (Angie) Johnson of Clinton, Kentucky; a stepdaughter,
Tammie (David) Taylor of Martin; four grandchildren; six
step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
William "Bill" Michael Keefer
William "Bill" Michael Keefer, 52, of Arlington,
Kentucky, died Monday, April 10, 2006, at Jackson Purchase
Medical Center in Mayfield, Kentucky. Graveside services for
Mr. Keefer were held Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at 2:00 p.m.
at Arlington City Cemetery in Arlington, Kentucky. Rev. Bob
Gordon officiated the services.
Mr. Keefer was a deck hand on the river and was of the
Assembly of God faith. He was also a veteran of the United
States Navy. Mr. Keefer was preceded in death by his
parents, Alvin Author Keefer, Sr. and Louise Teems Keefer;
and a brother.
Mr. Keefer is survived by two daughters, Shana Keefer
of Dresden, and Rachel Keefer of South Fulton; a son, Brian
Keefer of Union City; four sisters, Jackie Haley of
Mayfield, Kentucky, Rebecca Stroud of Union City, Janice
Keefer of Clinton, Kentucky, and Joyce Payne of South
Fulton; a brother, Roger Dale Keefer of Arlington, Kentucky;
and two grandchildren.
