The Dresden Lady Lions ended their pre-spring break slate
on a positive note as they were able to defeat the Obion

groundout to the shortstop to make the score 3-0 after one

from Katie Quinton opened the bottom half of the second
inning, Dresden retook the lead as a groundout to third by
Filtz allowed Quinton to score and give Dresden a 4-3 lead
after two innings.
The Lady Lion defense played superb for the next four
innings, allowing only two hits. The Lady Rebels only
managed a single by Whitson in the third and Grossner in the
sixth. OCCHS was retired in other in the fourth and fifth
innings.
However, Dresden was only able to threatened in the fifth
inning as a walk to Neisler and a single from Levister gave
the Lady Lions runners at second and third with one out.
But, the Lady Rebels were able to get a pair of flyouts to
end the threat.
The Lady Rebels finally got back on the board in the top of
the seventh inning as Bing reached on an error with one out.
After a flout out to short, a triple by Obion County tied
the game at 4-4. The Dresden defense got a groundout to end
the threat.
The Lady Lions quickly threatened in the bottom of the
seventh as Filtz opened the bottom of the seventh with a
single and quickly stole two bases. After a flyout to short,
Levister was hit by a pitch, then stole second to give the
Lady Lions runners at second and third with one out. The
next batter struck out, but Lacie Kelley came through,
knocking over the head of the Obion County left fielder to
plate Filtz and give the Lady Lions a 5-4 win.
Dresden will return to action Monday, April 4 when they host
