Ardell Leggins Maxey
Ardell Leggins Maxey, 70, of Dresden, died Thursday,
October 20, 2005, at the Weakley County Nursing Home in
Dresden. Services for Mrs. Maxey were held Saturday, October
22, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery in Latham. Bro. Roy
Auvenshine and Bro. Donald Doster officiated the services.
Mrs. Maxey was a retired employee of the Kellwood
Corporation. She was born in Weakley County to the late
Auzie and Margret Winstead Leggins. Mrs. Maxey was a member
of the New Hope Baptist Church near Latham. In addition to
her parents, Mrs. Maxey was preceded in death by a son,
Richard Lee Maxey; a sister, Lucille Todd and a brother,
Earl Leggins.
Mrs. Maxey is survived by her husband, J.T. Maxey of
Dresden; two sons, Ray Lynn Maxey of Springville and Roy
Dean Maxey of Palmersville; two sisters, Maybelle Workman of
Dresden and Rozelle Gatewood of Sharon; two grandchildren
and two great grandchildren. Mr. Paul Dennis Blake
Mr. Paul Dennis Blake, 62, of Martin, died Tuesday,
October 18, 2005 at his home in Martin. Services for Mr.
Blake were held Thursday, October 20, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in
the Murphy Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in East Side
Cemetery. Tom Pirtle and Rev. Matt Brown officiated the
services.
Mr. Blake was employed at Wal-Mart as a Greeter. He was
a member of Central Baptist Church and a graduate of Martin
High School. Mr. Blake was born November 1, 1942 to the late
Paul Fedrick Blake and Mary Lou McDurmon Blake.
Mr. Blake is survived by a brother, Dan Blake of
Martin.
Mrs. Janice Juanita Duncan
Mrs. Janice Juanita Duncan, 53, of Martin, died Sunday,
October 23, 2005, at the Madison County General Hospital in
Jackson. Visitation for Mrs. Duncan will be at Murphy
Funeral Home on Thursday, October 27, 2005, from 5:00 p.m.
to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services for Mrs. Duncan will be held
Friday, October 28, at 1:00 p.m. in the Murphy Funeral Home
Chapel. Burial will be in the East Side Cemetery. Rev. Aaron
Ward will officiate the services.
Mrs. Duncan was a Homemaker. She was born July 8, 1952
in Union City to the late Lonnie Nelson and Doris Marie
Vickers Carter. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Duncan was
preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry W. Nelson and
Richard Nelson.
Mrs. Duncan is survived by her husband, Jimmy Bishop of
Martin; three sons, Alvin Duncan of Martin, Jerry Nelson of
Fairvew and David Nelson of Martin; two brothers, David G.
Nelson of Romeoville, Illinois and Harold Johnson of Martin;
seven sisters, Ruby Tyler of Grand Blanc, Michigan, Dorothy
Grubb of Chicago, Illinois, Elisa (Peachie) Davis of Burton,
Michigan, Brenda Gregory of Martin, Gina Williams of Martin,
Shelia Cronin of Martin and Bernice Nelson of Paris; and six
grandchildren, Anthony Duncan, Austin Duncan, Sheena Duncan,
Lyken Duncan, Kyle Nelson and Abigail Nelson.
Gemi Alexandra Capps
Gemi Alexandra Capps, 14, of Greenfield, died Saturday,
October 22, 2005 at the Volunteer Community Hospital.
Services for Miss Capps were held Monday, October 24, 2005
at 4:00 p.m. in the Williams Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was
in the Highland Cemetery in Greenfield. Judd Mowery
officiated the services.
Miss Capps was a student. She attended the First
Presbyterian Church in Greenfield. She was born October 11,
1991 in Union City.
Miss Capps is survived by her father Roger Capps of
Greenfield; her mother, Suzanne Grooms of Greenfield; a
sister, Casey Capps of Greenfield; two brothers, David Capps
of Greenfield and Dustin Davidson of Greenfield; and her
grandmother, Mollie Grooms Prodoehl of Greenfield.
Mrs. Anne Roberts
Mrs. Anne Roberts, 63, of Dresden, died Tuesday,
October 18, 2005, at her home in Dresden. Services for Mrs.
Roberts were held Saturday, October 22, 2005, at 3:00 p.m.
at the First United Methodist Church in Dresden. Burial was
in the Sandy Branch Cemetery near Latham. Dr. Charlotte
Mansfield officiated the services. Bowlin Funeral Home was
in charge of the services.
Mrs. Roberts was a Cashier at E.W. James and Sons. She
was a member of the First United Methodist Church in
Dresden. Mrs. Roberts was a native of Weakley County and the
daughter of the late Joseph A. Roberts and Sylvanelle Foiles.
Mrs. Roberts is survived by a daughter, Beth Dolack of
Dresden; a son, Robert Schultek of Houston, Texas; a sister,
Tracy Foiles of California; a brother, Gary Foiles of
Lyndon, Kansas and five grandchildren.
