Billy Joe Blaylock
Billy Joe Blaylock, 67, of Gleason, died Sunday, November 27,
2005, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services for Mr.
Blaylock will be held today, Wednesday, November 30, 2005, at
2:00 p.m. at Beech Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in
Caledonia Cemetery in McKenzie. Rev. Bob Copeland will officiate
the services.
Mr. Blaylock was a retired Environmental Coordinator and a
veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also a member of Beech
Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Blaylock was born July 14, 1938 in
McKenzie to the late Horace Gordon and Thelma Lois (Wheat)
Blaylock.
Mr. Blaylock is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue (Babb)
Blaylock; a son, Jeff Blaylock of McKenzie; a daughter, Angie
Adams of Gleason; a sister, June Mull of Union City; and four
grandchildren.
Donnie Glisson
Donnie Glisson, 64, of Gleason, died Wednesday, November 23,
2005, at the Paris Manor Nursing Center in Paris. Services for
Mr. Glisson were held Saturday, November 26, 2005 at 3:00 p.m.
in the LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home. Burial was in the
Olive Branch Cemetery in Cottage Grove. Rex Buford officiated
the services.
Mr. Glisson was a self-employed Logger and Timber Cutter for
over 40 years. He was a member of the Como Church of Christ. He
was a US Army Veteran. Mr. Glisson was born October 5, 1941 in
Paris. Mr. Glisson was married to Nancy Melton Glisson on
December 5, 1963 and she preceded him in death on September 28,
1995. Mr. Glisson was married to Gail Maynard Glisson on August
17, 1997 and she survives him. In addition to his first wife,
Mr. Glisson was preceded in death by his father, Ray Glisson;
his mother, Macon Clayton Glisson; a sister, Dorothy Glisson and
three brothers, Waddell Glisson, Weldon Glisson and Aubrey
Glisson.
In addition to his wife, Gail Maynard Glisson, Mr. Glisson is
survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and Tim Van
Drew of Paris, Teresa and Troy Bradford of Springville and
Barbie and Chris Hollingsworth of Paris; a son, Brian Patrick
Glisson of Como; six step children; three sisters, Shirley
Dunbar of Wisconsin, Virginia Means of Missouri and Velma Mathis
of Bruceton; three brothers, Kenneth Glisson of Paris, James
Glisson of Paris and Buford Glisson of South Carolina; five
grandchildren, Erica and Chase Bradford, Brandon and Travis
Kibbler and Reed Younger; two great grandchildren, Madison
Bradford and Will Kibbler; 15 step grandchildren and a special
niece, Kellie Andres.
Jerry O. Davis
Jerry O. Davis, 78, of Dresden, died Thursday, November 24,
2005, at his home in Memphis. Graveside services for Mr. Davis
were held Saturday, November 26, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset
Cemetery in Dresden. Rev. James Moore Guill officiated the
services.
Mr. Davis was retired from the United States Postal Service and
was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dresden. He
was a 1946 graduate of Dresden High School. Mr. Davis was a
native of Weakley County and the son of the late Vollie O'Neal
and Arline Moore Davis. In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis
was also preceded in death by his wife, Marcella Pinkston Davis;
a daughter, Beverly Ann Davis; and brother, Edward Douglas
(Mildred) Brummitte.
Mr. Davis is survived by a daughter, Debra (Donald) Underwood of
Memphis; a son, Richard O'Neal (Debra) Davis of Memphis; a
sister, Mary Elizabeth Guill of Dresden; a brother, John Richard
Davis of Oak View, California; seven grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Martha Lane Morris Neese
Martha Lane Morris Neese, 85, of Paris, died Friday, November
25, 2005, at Paris Manor Nursing Center in Paris. Funeral
services for Mrs. Neese were held Monday, November 28, 2005, at
10:00 a.m. at McEvoy Funeral Home Chapel in Paris. Burial
followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Perry McCall
(nephew) and Rev. Jerry Massey officiated the services.
Mrs. Neese was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she
was a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class, Women's
Missionary Union and Keanagers. She graduated in 1939 from E.W.
Grove High School and she was a homemaker. Mrs. Neese was born
August 27, 1920 in Henry County to the late Conrad B. Morris and
Ruth Douglass Morris. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Neese was
also preceded in death by her husband, whom she married October
8, 1939, Fred Talley Neese; a sister, Marjorie Jane LaJoye; and
a brother, Harold Morris.
Mrs. Neese is survived by a son, William R. (Susan) Neese of
Paris; three sisters, Sue Mackey Taylor of Memphis, Carolyn
Maldonado of Frazier, Michigan, and Julia Ann McCall of Memphis;
and one granddaughter, Ellen Ruth Neese.
Sarah May Ring Quintero
Sarah May Ring Quintero, 63, of the Riceville Community in
Fulton, Kentucky, died Sunday, November 27, 2005, at Parkway
Regional Hospital. Funeral services for Ms. Quintero will be
held today, Wednesday, November 30, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at
Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton. Burial will follow in
Greenlea Cemetery. Rev. Steve Perry will officiate the services.
Ms. Quintero was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse for the
Northwest Tennessee Correctional Facility in Tiptonville and was
of the Baptist faith. She was born September 25, 1942 in Kennon,
Tennessee. Ms. Quintero was preceded in death by her father,
Ruben L. Ring; her stepmother, Annie Ruth (Allen) Ring; and two
brothers.
Ms. Quintero is survived by two sons, Ronald Lee Hayden of
Dresden, and Donald Gene Hayden of Fulton, Kentucky; two
daughters, Tracy May Hayden Harris of Fulton, and Robin Lucille
Lawrence of Mt. Pelia; five grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; her mother, Lucille (Pierce) Houghtaling of
Owasso, Michigan; four brothers, Lloyd Griffin of Nashville, R.L.
Ring of Clinton, Kentucky, James Ring of South Fulton, and Cody
Houghtaling of Michigan; and three sisters, Mary Adams of Wingo,
Kentucky, Darlene Floyd of Clinton, Kentucky, and Sarah Ellegood
of Fancy Farm, Kentucky.
Donald L. Clinard
Donald L. Clinard, 70 of the Cuba, Kentucky Community, died
Tuesday, November 22, 2005, at the Westview Nursing Home in
Murray, Kentucky. Services for Mr. Clinard were held Saturday,
November 26, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cuba Baptist Church in
Cuba, Kentucky. Burial was in the Cuba Baptist Cemetery. Rev.
Glynn Copeland officiated the services. Hornbeak Funeral Home
was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Clinard was retired from Rhodes Supply in Cuba. He was a
member of the Cuba Baptist Church and lived in the Cuba area all
of his life. Mr. Clinard was born May 30, 1935 in Weakley County
to the late Forrest (Clark) and Pete R. Clinard. In addition to
his parents, Mr. Clinard was preceded in death by three
brothers, Guy Clinard, Herb Clinard and Boyd "Flick" Clinard and
a sister, Rachel Clinard.
Mr. Clinard is survived by his wife, Dorothy Mathis Clinard of
Cuba, whom he married August 11, 1956; a daughter, Belinda
Vaughn of Cuba; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Jeff and Brenda
Clinard of Wingo, Kentucky and Michael and Penny Clinard of
Louisville, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Jessica Clinard of
Wingo, Darren Vaughn and Lauren Vaughn both of Cuba, Samuel
Clinard and Jacob Clinard both of Louisville and a brother,
Jimmy Clinard of House Springs, Missouri.
Holly Nichole Johnson
Holly Nichole Johnson, 27, of Sharon, died Saturday, November
26, 2005, at her home. Funeral services were held Tuesday,
November 29, 2005, at Sharon Church of Christ. Burial followed
in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Ms. Johnson was employed by First State Bank in Martin.
Ms. Johnson is survived by a daughter, Raegan Nichole; her
parents, Robert (Bob) and Sandra Johnson of Sharon; a brother,
Todd Johnson of Dresden; a sister, Annie Husband of Maryville;
grandparents, Robert and Juanita Johnson of Sharon, and Louise
Via and the late O'Neal Via of Bells; and one niece, Ashley
Johnson.
Jerry William McDonald
Jerry William McDonald, 59, of Greenfield, died Thursday,
November 24, 2005, at the home of his daughter. Funeral services
for Mr. McDonald were held Saturday, November 26, 2005, at 2:00
p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial followed in
Morris Cemetery in Greenfield. Bro. Kenneth Price officiated the
services.
Mr. McDonald was a factory worker. He was born December 1, 1945
in Brazil, Tennessee to the late J.C. McDonald and Inez
Armstrong.
Mr. McDonald is survived by a son, Tim McDonald of Greenfield;
two daughters, Dawn (McDonald) Turnbow of Martin, and Tamara
(McDonald) McDonald of Martin; five brothers, Billy McDonald of
Greenfield, Bobby McDonald of Greenfield, Hollis McDonald of
Greenfield, Rickey McDonald of Bradford, and James McDonald of
Gleason; three sisters, Maxine Turner of Bradford, Neola Parker
of Paris, and Magaline Lane of Nashville; and four
grandchildren.
Mrs. Mary Burgess
Mrs. Mary Burgess, 85, of Dresden, died Sunday, November 20,
2005, at the Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Graveside
services for Mrs. Burgess were held Tuesday, November 22, 2005,
at 2:00 p.m. at the Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. Dr. Don McCulley
officiated the services. Bowlin Funeral was in charge of the
arrangements.
Mrs. Burgess was a Nurses Aide. She was born in Hickman County,
Kentucky to the late Buford and Amanda Eleanor Cunningham. She
was a Methodist. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burgess was
preceded in death by her husband, Claudie Burgess; three
sisters, Rachel Gravitt, Saline Johnson and Emma Jane Watts; and
three brothers, Caldwell Cunningham, Luther Cunningham and Larue
Cunningham.
Mrs. Burgess is survived by a son, Jim Burgess of Dresden; two
grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Thomas Ray Morris
Thomas Ray Morris, 72, of Gleason, died Thursday, November 24,
2005, at Madison County General Hospital in Jackson. Funeral
services for Mr. Morris were held Sunday, November 27, 2005, at
2:00 p.m. at Gleason First United Methodist Church. Burial
followed in Hopewell Cemetery. Rev. Mike Jeffers officiated the
services.
Mr. Morris was the owner of the Gleason Superette and was a
member of the Gleason First United Methodist Church. He was born
June 6, 1933 in Gleason to the late Hughlon Allen and Georgie
Jewel Brawner Morris.
Mr. Morris is survived by his wife, Helen Joyce Berry Morris;
two sons, Mike Morris of Gleason, and Steve Morris of Nashville;
a daughter, Laurie Morris of Gleason; a brother, Gordon Morris
of Sharon; two sisters, June Cook of McKenzie, and Evelyn Tucker
of McKenzie; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
