Bonnie R. Davis
Bonnie R. Davis, 72, of Cottage Grove, died Thursday,
July 21, 2005, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in
Jackson. Funeral services for Mrs. Davis were held Sunday,
July 24, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at McEvoy Funeral Home Chapel in
Paris. Burial followed in Olive Branch Cemetery in Cottage
Grove. Dr. Gary S. Collier, Bro. Bennie Akers, and Mike
Wimberley officiated the services.
Mrs. Davis was a member of the Olive Branch Methodist
Church. She was a homemaker, graduated from Cottage Grove
High School and formerly worked at Mitchum Company, Holley
Carburetor Plant, Como General Store, and Ore Springs
Grocery. Mrs. Davis was born December 24, 1932 in Henry
County (Osage area) to the late Henry L. Lampkins and
Blanche Turner Lampkins.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, William Earl
Davis; two daughters, Kathy P. Davis of Cottage Grove, and
Debra (Charlie) Correll of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; a son, Don
Davis, and girlfriend, Kay Fletcher of Cottage Grove; two
sisters, Ruby L. Jimerson of Whitlock, Tennessee, and
Paulette Ramsey of Waverly; brother-in-law, Charles T.
(Regina) Davis, Jr. of Paris; brother-in-law, Danny Ramsey
of New Johnsonville; sister-in-law, Faye Davis of Buchanan;
aunts, Lillie Davis of Como and Willie Mae Lampkins of
Paris; three grandchildren, Michael Keith Ainley of Paris,
Kimberly (Jason) Snider of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Charlie W.
Correll, Jr. of Mt. Juliet; and two great-grandchildren,
Kyler Ainley of Paris and Lydia Snider of Ft. Worth, Texas.
E.L. "Skinny" Call
E.L. "Skinny" Call, 76, of Dresden, died Friday, July
22, 2005, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. Funeral
services for Mr. Call were held Monday, July 25, 2005, at
3:00 p.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Burial
followed in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. Glenn Scott
officiated the services.
Mr. Call was the Maintenance Supervisor for the State
of Tennessee TDOT and a Methodist Minister. He was a 50 year
member of American Legion Post 94 of Dresden; Dresden Fire
Chief for 43 years; a Gideon for 25 years; member of Olive
Branch Methodist Church in Como; and the former pastor at
Wesley Chapel Methodist Church, Cottage Grove Methodist
Church, and Olive Branch Methodist Church. Mr. Call was a
native of Weakley County and the son of the late Maywood
Columbus and Vera Jane Dunn Call. In addition to his
parents, Mr. Call was also preceded in death by a sister,
Jessie Bell Darnell.
Mr. Call is survived by his wife, whom he married July
22, 1950, Mrs. Sarah Milton Call of Dresden; a daughter, Pat
(Ralph) Tarver of Martin; two brothers, Robert Call of
Detroit, Michigan, and Tom Call of Dresden; two
grandchildren, Patrick Tarver and Brandi Tarver Woodruff;
and one great-grandchild, Olivia Woodruff. Royal V.
Pinkston
Royal V. Pinkston, 87, of Dresden, died Wednesday, July
20, 2005, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Dresden.
Funeral services for Mr. Pinkston were held Saturday, July
23, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Dresden First United Methodist
Church. Burial followed in Grove Hill Church Cemetery in
Dresden. Rev. Richard L. Pinkston, Jr. officiated the
services.
Mr. Pinkston was a retired Purchasing Agent for I.C.
Railroad and member of Dresden First United Methodist Church
and a church choir member. He was also a member of the
Dresden Lions Club, Dresden American Legion Post 94, Dresden
V.F.W., and the Dresden D.A.V. Mr. Pinkston was born in
Sharon to the late Vernon E. and Mirt Jane Somers Pinkston.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Pinkston was also preceded
in death by a sister, Rachael Parker; and five brothers,
Robert Pinkston, Richard Pinkston, Ray Pinkston, Renn
Pinkston, and Ralph Pinkston.
Mr. Pinkston is survived by seven nieces, Cathy
Blackard of Dresden, Pam Campbell of Antioch, Tennessee, Amy
Bradham of Collierville, Tennessee, Teresa Jane Rector of
Arlington, Tennessee, Ramona Swieringa of Lahaska,
Pennsylvania, Sherry Morrison of Peotone, Illinois, and
Anita Drueke of Clinton, Massachusetts; six nephews, Robert
Max Pinkston of Troy, Johnny Royal Pinkston of Kentucky,
Richard L. Pinkston, Jr. of Memphis, Wayne Parker of
Peotone, Illinois, Robert Parker of Redwood Valley,
California, and Howell Pinkston of Malibu, California; and a
number of great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Dorothy LeCornu Johnson
Dorothy LeCornue Johnson, 71, of Martin, died
Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at the Volunteer Community
Hospital in Martin. Services for Mrs. Johnson were held
Friday, July 22, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. in the Hornbeak Funeral
Home Chapel in Fulton, Kentucky. Burial was in the Sandy
Branch Cemetery in Weakley County. Rev. Dale True and Rev.
Mark Dowdy officiated the services.
Mrs. Johnson was a Homemaker and a member of McConnell
Baptist Church. She was born April 19, 1934 to the late R.L.
and Essie Collins LeCornu and lived most of her life in
Dukedom. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was
preceded in death by two husbands, Robert Jones and Charlie
Mason and one son, Danny Ray Jones.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband to who she
married in 1999, Harold D. Johnson of Martin; two daughters,
Renee Mason Owens of Martin and Linda Nelson Cherry of
Dukedom; four sons, Mike Jones of McConnell, Bobby Jones of
South Fulton, Dennis Jones of Evansville, Indiana and Ricky
Mason of Martin; one sister, Shirley Fields of Rock Hill
South Carolina; one brother, Nathan LeCornue of South
Fulton; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Frank S. Wilson
Frank S. Wilson, 81, of Greenfield, died Thursday, July
21, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis.
Funeral services for Mr. Wilson were held Monday, July 25,
2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial
followed in Bible Union Cemetery in Martin. Bro. Joe White
officiated the services.
Mr. Wilson was retired from maintenance at the
University of Tennessee at Martin and was a Jehovah's
Witness. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. He
was born January 8, 1924 in Weakley County to the late
Franklin B. Wilson and Mollie Suggs Wilson. In addition to
his parents, Mr. Wilson was also preceded in death by his
wife, Thelma Leona Ayers Wilson; and a son, Blane Wilson.
Mr. Wilson is survived by a daughter, Marla Wilson of
Greenfield; a sister, Hazel Spencer Workman of Martin; a
grandson, Jonathan Frank Milligan of Memphis; and three
great-grandchildren, Krista Saylor, Katylen Huggins, and
Malichi Morgan. R.C. Lamb
R.C. Lamb, 69, of Palmersville, died Wednesday, July
20, 2005, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral
services for Mr. Lamb were held Sunday, July 24, 2005, at
2:00 p.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Burial
followed in Old Bethel Church Cemetery near Palmersville.
Bro. Kieth Dublin officiated the services.
Mr. Lamb was retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber
Company and was a Baptist by faith. He was born in Obion
County to the late Willard and Pearline Legans Lamb.
Mr. Lamb is survived by his wife, Mrs. Faye Sutton Lamb
of Palmersville; a stepdaughter, Darlene Gifford of
Fairfield, Illinois; a stepson, Jimmie Dale Brown of South
Fulton; a half-brother, Dewell Winstead of Grand Prairie,
Texas; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. |
