Dorothy Evelyn Morgan

     Dorothy Evelyn Morgan, 81, of Milan, formerly of Gleason, died Tuesday, February 1, 2005, at Milan General Hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Morgan were held Thursday, February 3, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. Burial followed in Hopewell Cemetery. Rev. Kenny Carr officiated the services.
     Mrs. Morgan was retired from Baybee Shoe Company and was a member of Gleason First Baptist Church. She was born October 5, 1923 to the late Acie and Vessie Gurley Ervin. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morgan was also preceded in death by her husband, Mack Morgan.
     Mrs. Morgan is survived by a son, Gary Morgan of Phoenix, Arizona; a daughter, Carol Davis of Milan; a brother, Robert Theron Ervin of Fort Myers, Florida; three sisters, Mildred Coleman of McKenzie, Hazel Jackson of Hohenwald, and Donna Packer of Vermontville, Michigan; twelve grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Joe William Grainger

     Joe William Grainger, 79, of Jackson, died Thursday, February 3, 2005, at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Grainger were held Sunday, February 6, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial followed in Meridian Cemetery in Greenfield. Keith Pence officiated the services.
     Mr. Grainger was a business owner and attended Poplar Heights Baptist Church. He was born April 28, 1925 in Memphis.
     Mr. Grainger is survived by his wife, Marolyn Simmons Grainger of Jackson; two daughters, Betty Jo (Grainger) Spice of Jackson, and Pat (Grainger) Qualls of Jackson; two sisters, Martha J. Wilson of Martin, and Virginia M. Hill of Martin; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Marvin A. Bradberry

     Marvin A. Bradberry, 88, of Martin, died Saturday, February 5, 2005, at Martin Health Care. Funeral services for Mr. Bradberry were held Tuesday, February 8, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Church of Christ. Burial followed in East Side Cemetery in Martin. Bro. Eddie Hutchens officiated the service.
     Mr. Bradberry was retired from Vowell & Sons Lumber Company and was a member of Bethel Church of Christ. He was also a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. He was born January 17, 1917 in Martin to the late E.T. Bradberry and Vivian Sullivan Bradberry.
     Mr. Bradberry is survived by his wife, Mrs. Winnie Sills Bradberry of Martin; two sons, Larry Bradberry of Martin, and Jimmy Bradberry of Dresden; four daughters, Patsy McAlpin of Dresden, Phyllis Bradberry of Martin, Peggy Essary of Dresden, and Rebecca Miles Thornley of Ripley, Tennessee; a brother, Charles Ray Bradberry of Martin; ten grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Patricia "Pat" Granner

     Patricia "Pat" Granner, 63, of Sharon, died Thursday, February 3, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. Funeral services for Mrs. Granner were held Saturday, February 5, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel in Sharon. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery in Sharon. Father Joe Paolozzi officiated the services.
     Mrs. Granner was a cashier at Wal-Mart and a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. She was born August 24, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Walter and Virginia Adams Poynter. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Granner was also preceded in death by a brother, Doug Poynter.
     Mrs. Granner is survived by her husband, James Granner; a son, Jim Granner of Martin; and one grandchild.

Richard Walker Burress

     Richard Walker Burress, 72, of Paris, died Wednesday, February 2, 2005, at Jackson-Madison County Hospital in Jackson. Funeral services for Mr. Burress were held Sunday, February 6, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at White-Ranson Funeral Home, Inc. in Union City. Burial followed in West Hill Cemetery in Paris. Rev. Bud Martenn and Chief Petty Officer Russell Matheny (USN) officiated the services.
     Mr. Burress was a 20-year veteran of the United States Navy, where he was an EOD diver with the rank of Chief Gunners Mate. He was a member of the VFW and the Loyal Order of Moose and Eagles Club. Mr. Burress was a Baptist by faith. He was born March 23, 1932 in Obion County to the late Carl Burress and Eva Witherspoon Burress. In addition to his parents, Mr. Burress was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Muse; and a brother, Steve Burress.
     Mr. Burress is survived by his wife, whom he married September 12, 1974, Sharon Meador Burress of Paris; a daughter, Kandy Burress of St. Petersburg, Florida; three sons, Bruce Burress of Roseburg, Oregon, Richard Lee Burress of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Blake Meador of Jonesboro, Arkansas; a sister, Joyce Hamblen of Union City; a brother, Jerry Burress of Rives, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

Velma Louise Grinder

     Velma Louise Grinder, 83, of Dresden, died Saturday, January 29, 2005, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mrs. Grinder were held Tuesday, February 1, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Burial followed in Liberty Cemetery in Dresden. Rev. Randy Stacey officiated the services.
     Mrs. Grinder was a retired seamstress at Greenfield Mfg. Company was a member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church. She was born in McComb, Mississippi to the late Monroe and Opal Lawson Redmon. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Grinder was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Lee Grinder.
     Mrs. Grinder is survived by a daughter, Sandra (husband, Bill) Bethel of Greenfield; a son, Ernest "Ernie" (wife, Many Bears) Grinder of Gallatin, Tennessee; two brothers, Charles Redmon of Martin, and Bobby Redmon of Picayune, Mississippi; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Geneva Perry Lamb

     Geneva Perry Lamb, 68, of Paris, formerly of Dresden, died Wednesday, February 2, 2005, at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Lamb were held Friday, February 4, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. Bro. Larry Jones, Bro. Randy Stephens, and Bro. Jim Robinson officiated the services.
     Mrs. Lamb was a homemaker and member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Henry. She was a native of Gleason and the daughter of the late Jessie Edward and Opal McDaniel Perry. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lamb was also preceded in death by a son, Mike (Jeannie) Lamb.
     Mrs. Lamb is survived by her husband, Charles E. Lamb of Paris; a daughter, Teresa (Steve) Nanney of Paris; four grandchildren, Travis Lamb, Tyler Lamb, Josh Gallimore, and Dane Nanney; and her friend and caregiver, Tina Buie of Paris.

J.T. Puckett

     J.T. Puckett, 85, resident of Weakley County Nursing Home in Dresden, formerly of Dukedom, died Monday, January 31, 2005, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mr. Puckett were held Thursday, February 3, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at Jackson Funeral Home in Dukedom. Burial followed in Acree Cemetery in Dukedom. Rev. Rick Walker officiated the services.
     Mr. Puckett was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church and a member of the Cuba Masonic Lodge. He had retired from TVA as a millwright welder and had lived in the Dukedom area most of his life. Mr. Puckett was born February 2, 1919 in Weakley County to the late George and Henrietta (Mooneyhan) Puckett. In addition to his parents, Mr. Puckett was also preceded in death by his wife, Valda Mae (Perry) Puckett; two brothers; and two sisters.
     Mr. Puckett is survived by a daughter, Paula Shook of Dukedom; two grandchildren, Melanie Laws Johnson and Barton Laws, both of Dresden; and two great-grandchildren, Meredith Johnson and Madelynn Laws, both of Dresden.

Mary Emily Berryhill

     Mary Emily Berryhill, 84, of Memphis, died Sunday, January 30, 2005, at Methodist Health Care North. Funeral services for Mrs. Berryhill were held Friday, February 4, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at Germantown Parkway Chapel. Burial followed in Memory Hill Gardens.
     Mrs. Berryhill was a homemaker and member of the Women of Macon Road Presbyterian. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Berryhill.
     Mrs. Berryhill is survived by two daughters, Marcelene Coker of Memphis, and Linda Riggan of Charlotte, North Carolina; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Ralph E. Foust

     Ralph E. Foust, 48, of Sugar Tree, died Friday, January 21, 2005, at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Foust were held Sunday, January 23, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at Decatur County Funeral Home. Burial followed in Highland Cemetery in Greenfield. Bro. Mark Mangrum officiated the services.
     Mr. Foust was self-employed and worked in lawn service. He was born June 14, 1956 in Millington, Tennessee.
     Mr. Foust is survived by his parents, Joe Foust of Sugar Tree, and Betty Foust of Sugar Tree; a sister, Diana Hudson of Sugar Tree; a brother, Donald Foust of Memphis; a sister-in-law, Geping Foust of China; a brother-in-law, Donald Hudson; grandmother, Mavis Foust of Greenfield; uncle, Bro. Jerry Foust of Nashville; and aunt, Sylvia Moraine of California.

Ruby L. Walker

     Ruby L. Walker, 80, of Martin, died Tuesday, February 1, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. Funeral services for Mrs. Walker were held Thursday, February 3, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial followed in Beech Springs Cemetery in Gleason. Rev. Doug Morris and Jerry Leggett officiated the services.
     Mrs. Walker was a homemaker and member of Central Baptist Church. She was born February 4, 1924 in Linden, Tennessee to the late Lonnie Lowe and Beatrice Spencer Lowe. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walker was also preceded in death by her husband, A.A. Walker.
     Mrs. Walker is survived by two sons, Donnie Walker of Martin, and Mack Walker of Martin; two daughters, Tina Wilbanks of Dresden, and Shelia Hahn of Martin; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Virginia Juanita Travis Sudberry

     Virginia Juanita Travis Sudberry, 81, of Dresden, died Saturday, February 5, 2005, at Hillview Community Living Center in Dresden. Funeral services for Mrs. Sudberry were held Monday, February 7, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Main Street Baptist Church in Martin. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. Bro. Johnny Hazelwood and Bro. Ellis Robinson officiated the services.
     Mrs. Sudberry was a homemaker and factory employee. She was also a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Martin. Mrs. Sudberry was born in Weakley County to the late Robert Quay and Tiney Bell Westbrook Reed. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sudberry was also preceded in death by her first husband, George Spencer Travis; and a sister, Helen Mosley.
     Mrs. Sudberry is survived by her husband, Mr. Clarence Sudberry; a daughter, Judy L. (Tommy) Martin of Martin; a son, James Robert (Judy) Travis of Nicholasville, Kentucky; a sister, Bobbie (Eulaine) Moubray of Dresden; one grandchild; one step-grandchild; and four great-grandchildren.
